''Marquart was reported missing on November 9, 1980, by his father. At the time, Marquart was 30 years old and living in Binghamton with a roommate who reported not seeing him for two days.
Marquart’s vehicle was located at a rest area off Interstate 81 in the town of Dickinson. His body was subsequently discovered in the Chenango River, about 500 feet behind the rest area. An autopsy determined the cause of death to be drowning, but also indicated he sustained injuries consistent with blunt force trauma to his head and face.

Marquart’s wallet was located in Otsiningo Park. His watch was missing at the time that he was found.''

  'New York State Police are renewing their investigation into a decades-old homicide and asking the public to help identify a person of interest who may hold critical information about the case.''

''Investigators are circulating a composite sketch developed in 1980 that depicts a white male who would have been in his 20s or 30s at the time, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing between 140 and 160 pounds. The individual would have been in the Binghamton area in November 1980''.

The person depicted in the sketch is not currently considered a suspect but has never been publicly identified. Police believe he may have information related to the investigation.''

''Investigators are urging anyone who may recognize the individual depicted in the sketch or who has information regarding Marquart’s death to come forward. Police said even seemingly minor details could be significant.
