According to the New York Times, Chief Medical Examiner Barbara Sampson is "confident the cause of death is suicide by hanging," but she has not yet released an official ruling on the manner or cause of Epstein's death.

If Epstein's manner of death is ruled a suicide, his estate could file a claim of wrongful death while he was in the custody of the state, The Daily Beast reported.
If an autopsy confirms Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide, it could lead to a legal win for his estate

This makes me want to throw up

Just in case anyone doesn't know this info (like I didn't when I was new to WS!), Cause of Death (COD) tells what caused the person to die - what injury or illness, for example.

The Manner of Death (MOD) is something different. The categories of MOD are:
Natural
Accident
Suicide
Homicide
Undetermined

I'm sharing this info because a WSer shared with me on a thread long ago when I was confused between COD and MOD. I realize everyone might already know this, but just in case any of our thread followers didn't know, now they do!

AP: Justice Department says 2 guards assigned to watch Jeffrey Epstein placed on leave; warden is temporarily reassigned.
Warden gets re-assigned .... hmmmm.... isnt that what the pope does with all of the 1000's of pedo priests over the years?

First, Barr needs to recuse himself and Congress needs to appoint an independent prosecutor to take over the investigation. Maybe a team with a retired FBI agent and retired judge. This should be done pronto before anyone has a chance to "lose", "not find" or forget to read key evidence.

Seeing as how Barr is the one who took Epstein down, I have full confidence that he will vigorously go after the co-conspirators including all of the pedo friends and "clients" of Epstein.

I'd be surprised if Epstein's estate refrains from filing a law suit.
In the case of Sandra Bland, her estate did, and won a 1.9 million dollar settlement.
Although it was found that the jail that she was incarcerated in did not follow proper procedures, the grand jury failed to indict neither the sheriff, nor the jail staff.

Sex fiend financier Jeffrey Epstein’s death was first leaked on a right-wing Internet message board, but didn’t come from FDNY first responders, the department said Tuesday.

Details about the degenerate’s demise were up on the anonymous message board 4 Chan about 30 minutes before word of the apparent suicide seeped out.

“The FDNY reviewed the alleged information and determined it did not come from the Department,” an FDNY spokesman told the Daily News.

An ongoing investigation into the leak is focused on hospital personnel right now, sources said.

If a city medic or any other medical professional divulged information about Epstein’s death, it is a violation of federal health privacy laws and they could face serious consequences, officials said.

Oren Barzilay, head of FDNY EMS union Local 2507 said he was “confident” that someone other than an FDNY member was responsible.

Reading the posting it looks clear to me that someone is repeating what they read or saw,” Barzilay said. “Patient confidentiality is vital part of our training. Our EMTs and paramedics are well aware of the consequences they would face by leaking such information.”

Anytime there is a fatality involved , it's standard procedure to re assign while the investigation is underway. The same thing happens with cops that shoot someone.

The Palm Beach estate of convicted sex predator Jeffrey Epstein, who died by suicide over the weekend at a jail in New York, has been vandalized.

Someone spray-painted the term '@leroy' in large red letters on the front gate of Epstein's property.

Jeffrey Epstein’s name and face are everywhere following his death. Even as an investigation reveals that the Metropolitan Correctional Center, where he died, was terminally short-staffed and relied on untrained guards who failed to monitor him, conspiracy theories persist. Americans who believe in their justice system assert that it is obvious that he was murdered, and that jailers could not possibly be so incompetent, cruel, or indifferent as to let such a high-profile prisoner commit suicide.

Here, to help you evaluate that claim, are 32 short stories about in-custody deaths or near-deaths in America.

These stories don’t mention Jeffrey Epstein, but they are about him. Epstein was incarcerated in the United States of America, and this is how the United States of America, the mightiest and richest nation there is or ever has been, treats incarcerated people. When you say, “There is no way that guards could be so reckless, so indifferent, so malicious as to just let someone as important as Epstein die,” this is how 32 Americans respond. Many, many more could respond in kind.

One of the most befuddling questions surrounding the Jeffrey Epstein saga is why Leslie Wexner, a billionaire entrepreneur, entrusted all of his money to Epstein, a secretive financier with no college degree.

For those immersed in the Jewish world, there’s an added question: How did Wexner — a prominent philanthropist seen as a champion of Jewish learning and ethical teaching, whose foundation has trained waves of rabbis, Jewish professionals and volunteer board leaders — end up so enmeshed and enamored with a future convicted sex offender and alleged sex trafficker?

Good point.

The timing does make that a possibility.

Has everyone watched GM's talk about the oceans? It's on youtube (not MSM so I'm not linking - you'll have to search).

She had some weird ideas about the ocean sort of hidden in a front of ecology. Through her website, people could "buy" part of the ocean and then watch it online - which sort of sounds like the money is being used to save the ocean but also seems like a money-making scheme.

It's cringe-worthy, imo, but now that LE is searching with scuba teams on the island, I'm wondering what exactly was going on there. Something creepy, I suspect.

Edited to add: GM's scheme also seems like a way to influence the way people think about the ocean - as something to be exploited rather than something to be protected.

***I would like to know where they moved the girls that were kept? This is a fascinating and tragic case.

First, Barr needs to recuse himself

In fairness to Barr, he did recuse himself initially. President Trump asked him to "unrecuse" himself, Barr then limited his recusal to Epstein-related activities up to the sweetheart deal conviction, but not afterwards.

IDK, but I would think that it's standard practice to re-assign and place on leave when an investigation is ongoing. @RetiredFed or @Larry Levine do you know if this is standard practice for an instance such as this?
Yes this is standard practice. The Warden is probably reassigned to an office where he can count paperclips. The two staff are placed on administrative leave, sometimes referred to as "home duty status." Basically they will receive pay while under investigation.

@Inthedetails. I’m not sure. I wondered if it had some hidden meaning.
I was apprehensive to post something that may have been just a bored wild kid tagging Epstein’s place. So I looked it up in the urban dictionary and it refers to “sex god”. The name Leroy is derived from northern France meaning “The King”. So who knows?

Drone footage from raid on Pedo Island. This "Rusty Shackleford" character has some pretty big kahunas!!

what are those tiny rooms that look like stables? too small to be rooms for guests, too many to be storage closets. weird. I'm afraid to ask.

This is exactly what I was talking about in my earlier posts of all the BS the news media spews. Out of all those thirty-two short stories, only one involved the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Of course by focusing on Epstein's death at the MCC, they shift the narrative to make you think all federal facilities are disgusting dungeons where inmates are tortured on a daily basis. Nothing could be further from the truth. Matter of fact, if the general public really knew how well federal inmates are taken care of, there would be outcries that taxpayers' money is being wasted on inmates.
