One detail that I wanted to double check before sending tweet: Various reporters, including me, heard prosecutors say passport listed residence as Saudi Arabia, but this appears to be distinct from issuing country. I'll confirm once transcript arrives.

Yes, that is confusing. I was assuming Saudi Arabia issued the passport, but that's not confirmed. Could be another foreign country issued the document and he (under another name) listed Saudi Arabia as his residence. The Daily Mail article mentioned it was issued in the 80s and only recently expired, which is a clue it's been renewed a few times, I would think.

Murky and weird.

Who needs a passport from another country, under another name, listing a residence in a place other than his known residences?

I'm very curious about what that is all about.

I hope we’ll learn more too. Why did he have it to begin with? No name on it? Is he buddies with notorious Crown Prince MbS?

A wall of the study was covered with photographs of famous people, including Woody Allen, and another that Mr. Epstein pointed out was of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia.

Interesting because I seriously doubt that having sex with underage girls would mean anything to a prince from that country. That alone could not be used as blackmail at all, I would assume.

I am going from memory , but those super rich guys would fly to Germany, I think, to have sex with young girls.

It is possible Epstein provided young blonde girls for them.

He could have had a private jet. Who would check for anything at the airport in Saudi Arabia

Did I mention I love Judge Berman? Here’s a great exchange with Weinberg:

Defense attorney Martin Weinberg argued Monday that Epstein had not been accused of wrongdoing since 2005, when he learned he was under investigation in Florida. “He wasn’t a predator who couldn’t control himself,” Weinberg said. “He disciplined himself.”

Berman appeared skeptical of that argument. Some studies have shown that recidivisms among sexual abusers increases significantly after 15 years, the judge said.

“It’s not like he is an out of control rapist,” Weinberg said.

“How do you know?” Berman countered.

When you’re dealing with Epstein’s flying monkeys you have to get everything right or they will pounce on something small to deflect and delay. IMO Berman has made up his mind already but is going to gather all the information that he will use so there will be no way to weasel around it. But they will try.
