The FBI’s top two leaders said in interviews on Fox News that the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide, and they promised to release a surveillance video from the federal jail in New York City where Epstein was found dead.

Officials in the first Trump administration ruled that Epstein’s death in 2019 was a suicide. But it has remained the subject of conspiracy theories suggesting he was murdered because of his connections to high-profile celebrities and politicians.

  • A UK tribunal upheld Jes Staley's ban from senior financial roles over his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
  • The judgment said Staley failed to disclose his relationship with the child sex offender.
  • Barclays has denied Staley deferred shares, and the tribunal reduced his fine to £1.1 million.

President Trump's Justice Department and FBI have concluded they have no evidence that convicted sex offender and disgraced financier Jeffrey Epsteinblackmailed powerful figures, kept a "client list" or was murdered, according to a memo detailing the findings obtained by Axios.

Why it matters: The findings represent the first time Trump's administration has officially contradicted conspiracy theories about Epstein's activities and his death — theories that had been pushed by the FBI's top two officials before Trump appointed them to the bureau.

What's next: The DOJ and FBI say in the memo that no "further disclosure" of Epstein-related material "would be appropriate or warranted."

  • The memo says much of the material relates to child sexual abuse, details of Epstein's victims, and information that would expose innocent individuals to "allegations of wrongdoing."
  • "Through this review, we found no basis to revisit the disclosure of those materials and will not permit the release of child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬," the memo says.

Thank you for the posting sds. I can’t say I like or believe this information, but thanks for the info. I have no proof that their conclusion is wrong.

The Jeffrey Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre claimed in her diary that the sex offender taped her being “abused by other men” to use for blackmail, seemingly contradicting a memorandum by the FBI and the justice department.

The memo, published on Monday, stated that there was “no credible evidence found that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals as part of his actions”.

Giuffre, who died by suicide at her home in Perth, Australia, in April, had left behind a diary of her final months, which her family shared with The Times to tell the “full story” of her life.

“I used to be watched by Epstein’s hidden cameras, which I have seen myself,” she wrote in one undated entry.

“The FBI have the archive footage showing me being abused by other men, used as blackmail.”

Large black binders holding labelled CDs, as well as hard drives, were discovered in several rooms in his eight-storey Upper East Side apartment in Manhattan, including in a so-called massage room.

Federal prosecutors said CDs found in a safe featured sexual photographs of women and under-age girls.

Virginia can say what she thinks was happening (blackmail), but unless there is evidence, the FBI cannot do anything. If there was blackmail, it would have been stated in person without any texts, email, or phone recordings.

Nothing to see here. Move along. Move along.

So what do you all think of this 1 minute missing from the video?

I'm not familiar with the concept of VHS tapes skipping at midnight like Bondi suggests.

Sigrid McCawley, who is representing several Epstein victims in their civil cases, said the government has yet to disclose information collected from Epstein’s computers and said there has been a lack of accountability for the financier’s lawyer and accountant.

”I think what’s really just astonishing about this recent disclosure from the government is that they know they are sitting on a treasure trove of information, and they’re not turning it over. And I’ve worked on these cases for over 10 years now — there’s a plethora of information that the public has not been able to see relating to Epstein and his co-conspirators,” McCawley told NewsNation’s Elizabeth Vargas.

McCawley said she supports the government’s decision to hold back information that would be harmful to victims but said there is plenty of other evidence that could be released.

Not everything Giuffre says should be taken at face value, either. There's no doubt she was trafficked, but her allegations of who she was trafficked to have had mixed results... At one end, Prince Andrew doesn't come off as believable in the slightest; at the other, she very likely lied about Alan Derschowitz. There's certainly evidence being withheld that would destroy many powerful people who deserve to be destroyed (politicians on both sides of the aisle and internationally, although even moreso, the "donor class"... business, media, academia, PACs, "think tanks", etc), but the extent to which he was using it for blackmail is highly speculative. While Epstein was certainly brazen and reckless (a painting of Bill in Monica's dress, naming his jet the "Lolita Express"), an actual list of evidence against everyone he was blackmailing just seems too stupid for such a supposedly elaborate and sophisticated scheme. To quote Tony Soprano, "Why not just leave them a f'n urine sample?"

Whatever the "list" is, it could be in a variety of forms. The rest of his flight logs maybe. Or, it could be a list of evidence against various people, but actually made by the FBI once they got ahold of it (because the actual contents would be a crime just to view). A financial "client list" would be just Leslie Wexner. We already have his address book, but that doesn't actually tell us much, because the contacts have a wide range of potential power and culpability... Everything from heads of state to caterers.
