its worth a try!

its possible that the IUD just looked really small and upon closer look, you noticed their arms and legs. a boy on my son's football team was an obvious small person, it came from his maternal side because his mom and several of his aunts always came to the game and only one of them it was clearly obvious but if you took a closer look at the others, you noticed their arms/legs were also strangely short even though they were small.

My cousin has short arms even though he's 65 inches tall. The only time you can tell is when he's standing next to someone of the same height who has average proportions and their arms are hanging down. For exampled, his hands come to just below his hips where on my brother, who is the same height, they fall to mid thigh.

I haven't found anyone matching this description, either. Theresa Diane Johnson and Cynthia Day are the closest I've seen so far, however, I'm so glad Cynthia's family has her back now.

I wondering if the 50 inches was 5'0" and someone wasn't paying attention when entering the data...Just a thought.

Good point. I often wonder about some of the height estimates, if feet aren't often confused with inches when reporting it.

We still don't know about the car, or it's owner, do we?

I haven't heard anything more about this case. I keep checking, hoping something will pop up.

This is near Calvary Cemetery. It's a very old neighborhood and not just industrial.

My office was there for many many years. I have to check the bldg#. to make sure it's not the same one.

Who was the male? Was he alive? So odd.

Momoffourboys oh I was totally thinking the same thing!!.. I grew up and still live right by here.. I can walk to it.. but the Van Dam that we are thinking is on the Queens side..is Not the same as the one in Brooklyn.. the one in Brooklyn is right over the little bridge and its a small street and that area is only Industrial. I never realized that until right now..And yes its very very old!..

I do remember it was all very very industrial dirty with lots of graffitti and dark at night.. in the mid 1980s we used to walk over the little bridge to Brooklyn side to go hang out at McGuinness St in Greenpoint.. and yes it was all very very polish at that time in that area.. I have been looking for any information at all on this case and have found absolutely nothing. I also know there used to be a really old topless bar around there too.. and there were the prostitutes under the 7 train in LIC and by Jackson ave which is not to far from the location of where the garage with the car was found..and their was some sewage plant that in the summer some days it stank really bad. I know nothing I said has helped identify the .. here is a a little bit about the Van Dam street right on the other side..(the one with the homes) not the one the Jane Doe was found.. but you still get an idea of what it was like..around that time

Okay, I think I found the address in street view. I'm not sure exactly which door goes with the address; probablh the one that says https://www.google.com/maps/@40.726...4!1sqRh20O6WAw7EEpHWX89U0Q!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

It appears to be a completely commercial area, with none of the upstairs apartments etc. you often see in that part of NYC.

oh I love this thank you carbuff! I also found the door with the 55 on the wall there IMG_7512.jpg... iam trying to find out to see if I can see what this place used to be...

You should submit this, Madmx. I don't think it's a long shot. They should be able to compare fingerprints, if they haven't already, and I don't see her on the rule out list.

What a strange story and lack of information is horrible. Are we allowed to call the person investigating her case to see if we can find out anything else?

So I am assuming they are together .. .. ok.. this is the shady part.. it was owned by a guy with a couple of different aliases.... I don't know how this helps.. but I will post the links

Last I checked the UP's NamUs page, there doesn't appear to be a published list or no rule outs, not sure. But, since there is no DNA sample for these remains, and the fingerprints are held elsewhere, it's worth submitting it, IMHO. The prints might be held locally and not be in AFIS.
