Skeeter was charged with murder after admitting to cops that she body-slammed the toddler, stomped on his belly and threw her 3-year-old son on top of him during a bizarre "wrestling" match at her College Ave. home on Aug. 22, 2014, court papers state.

The then-state licensed daycare provider then submerged the battered 20-month-old in a bathtub full of scalding hot water, according to a criminal complaint.

Killer Bronx nanny sentenced for stomping 20-month-old baby to death

A brutal Bronx nanny was sentenced Tuesday to up to four years in prison for fatally stomping a 20-month-old boy in a bizarre wrestling match at her home day-care center.

The dead boy’s parents choked back tears as Athena Skeeter stood only a few feet away to hear Judge Miriam Best impose the sentence.

In a strange twist, the suspect — who took a March 2 plea deal to a manslaughter count — could possibly walk out of prison in the very near future.

The sentence is 1 1/3-to-4 years in prison, and Skeeter has already served more than two years behind bars. The state parole board will determine her release date — or if she does all four years.

“I’m just kind of upset that it turned out the way it did,” said Cheatham after the hearing. “I think it is not enough time.”

But the DA’s office said the parents signed off on the deal allowing Skeeter to plead down from a murder charge.

“Three years of misery’s enough for me,“ said Williamson. “I’m just trying to maintain my sanity, what I have left, and move on to the next battle.”

"I just felt numb," the boy's 35-year-old mother Thomasina Cheatham, who was five months pregnant at the time of his death, wrote in a victim impact statement that was read at Skeeter's sentencing by prosecutor Danielle Pascale. "Everything started seeming blurry. I was in a state of shock."

Pascale read a statement from Cardell's 58-year-old father Carlyle Williamson as well, who wrote that he had been through "three years of hell and misery" since the death of his son.

Cardell was nicknamed "Michael Jackson" due to his love of dance, and his father had described the two of them as "inseparable." He said after Skeeter's sentencing that he was particularly sad he would never get to take his son trick-or-treating.

Cheatham wrote in her impact statement that she loves Cardell and hopes he is at peace now.

"Cardell, mommy loves you. You are truly missed," it read. "Rest in peace. Sleep in peace."

this makes me incredibly sad. this baby was like a second chance for these parents and he was brutally taken away.

How can she get a max of 4 years with all she did to the boy baby, and didn't even seek help for him but went shopping. And, on top of that, intimidated a witness (the 12 year old).
