Watching News Nation now, and Elizabeth Smart is on and sharing her kidnapping story. She said CS’s parents will be on this show tonight.

Truthfully, I wish Jaycee Dugard and her mom would have talked to CS’s mom and aunt, just because Jaycee was kidnapped at an age closer to CS’s then Elizabeth was. But that’s just my opinion.

Perhaps they have and we just don't know about it. Jaycee is very private. I wouldn't be surprised at all if she or her mom had reached out to CS's family, though.

The family of the little girl kidnapped from Moreau Lake State Park will ask the governor tomorrow for a new law to protect children who’ve been victimized.

The [parents of CS], Senator Jim Tedisco, a Republican, and Democratic Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara want the governor to include money in her budget to make sure child survivors have a dedicated advocate present during all questioning and proceedings.

Often, when children have to share their story there is either no advocate present or a different person accompanies them each time.

Ross appeared via Teams video conferencing from the Saratoga County Jail today to ask County Judge Jim Murphy to be allowed to stay at the jail and appear virtually for any future appearances. Ross claims appearing in court increases his anxiety, which exacerbates an illness he has.

Craig Ross Jr. virtually appears in court Wednesday

The man accused of kidnapping a young girl in late September virtually appeared in Saratoga County Court Wednesday morning. Craig Ross Jr., 46, faces several charges which include kidnapping.

Judge James Murphy said regarding the discovery, “Discoverable materials are exceptionally voluminous in this case.” Judge Murphy ruled Ross must be present in court to determine a readiness for trial. That will be determined at a hearing on February 1.

I know this is a late response but I'm so glad the Judge ruled he must be present in Court. I am sick to death of these criminals who do these horrendous crimes and then claim they 'don't want to be present in Court'. Too damn bad, you did this horrible crime now strap them in if you have to and wheel them in if need be.

All of these offenders should be made to participate in the Judicial Process against them. Boo hoo, I'm sorry (NOT sorry) about your bad anxiety. What about your victim's anxiety, which she will probably carry with her throughout her life? It just makes me so sick and angry.
