NY - Daniella Okoye, 14 mos, arrives home dead from day care, 29 Aug 2014

EMS was called to the home of 14-month-old Daniella Okoye after her father brought her home from daycare. So far, no one has been charged with any crime.

Daniella’s mother said she believes the girl died at the day care center after being mistreated.

“I saw tears dried on her face. I thought she cried a long time,” she told Stern, adding that instead of trying to hide her daughter’s death, workers should have called 911.

The parents are now waiting for autopsy results.

A woman at the daycare said Daniella had some food and went to sleep. I wonder if she choked on the food? I hope no one intentionally harmed her. Even if an accident, I know this is devastating for her family.
