That article reads like a journalist making it up as they go along. Are we to believe that the Police are out there searching for a random drug supplier of an unknown substance without any tox screen results even suggesting what this girl might have taken? 🤷‍♂️
There are actual sourced quotes in the article, so I doubt the reporter is just making it up. It's possible the police sources are just bloviating.

However, if there was drug residue left over, then they probably do know what she took. Maybe not to a legal standard, but they do have drug testing kits that get instant results.

Also, if she had a regular dealer, then there are multiple ways the cops could follow up on that, like talking to the boyfriend or following a money trail. They don't need to wait for the tox screen for that.

Making it up as they go along wouldn't be the first time.

Long Island cops are on the hunt for the drug peddlers they believe supplied the fatal dose that killed a stunning Irish swimwear designer earlier this month...

a powdery white substance was found next to her body inside a boat...

Cops still don’t definitively know if the powder discovered near the 33-year-old beauty is heroin, cocaine, fentanyl, or a deadly cocktail of all three.

So they don't have tox results, they think a powdery substance remained in place overnight in the open air in a breezy marina, they haven't tested this powder yet (although it can be analyzed pretty quickly), and they don't know if she took any drugs or her cause of death. But somehow this will lead them to the seller of the unknown drug that she might not have taken and may not be the cause of her death, despite there not having been group ODs reported out there all summer (last one was in Coram, about 60 miles away, in July), as there have been in past summers. NYP really grasping at straws here.

And if they find texts from/to CD and the drug dealer what happens to him?
He gets a pass?

IMO, the actions of the "business partner" are quite sus to say the least.
So the 60-year old rich guy just happens to be alone on a boat with a young woman who accidentally dies from a drug overdose while he is naked. Yeah. Happens.
I am with you, this sounds highly suspicious, she had phoned her fiancée or boyfriend saying she had called an uber & would be home shortly. Perhaps someone misconstrued a business relationship & got angry perhaps? Is there a way to have no visible violence "on the body" as reported, but is there a way of maybe in the body? Of course, the most likely reason is an accidental overdose, but I am not buying it or anything just yet.

''MONTAUK, NY — More than six weeks after a young fashion designer was found lifeless on a boat in Montauk, an investigation into her death continues as questions swirl.''
Also interesting from your link:

In recent days, the Irish Independent reported that Nolan-O'Slattara's family was told that the final autopsy findings, including "toxicological, histological and other testing," could take at least three months to complete.

I was intrigued on the term “histological” & what does that mean? I have never seen that term used before.

What Histology Is and How It's Used

Histology is used during autopsies and forensic investigations to help understand unexplained deaths. In some cases, a cause of death may be evident from microscopic tissue examination. In other cases, the microanatomy may reveal clues about the environment after death.

'Dylan also reflected on how, following Martha's death, there has been a frenzy of interest around what happened and her life.

He said that the attention has been an unexpected source of comfort, telling the publication: 'She loved press, and loved media. I just knew that she’d be so happy that’s how she went out.''

"But Durnan's lawyer, Robert Holdman, insisted his client was forced to take off his clothes after they became 'soaked' in the designer's vomit.

Durnan and Nolan had been sitting on the deck of the Ripple in the dark discussing business when Nolan suddenly went limp at around 10.30pm or 11pm, the lawyer claimed.

Durnan thought she may have been suffering a heart attack, and tried to perform CPR. But it was already too late.

'She was gone almost immediately,' Holdman insisted. 'She was nonresponsive.'

Durnan did not call 911, but instead, police were alerted by a bystander around midnight''

That doesn't sound right. If a woman vomited on you and was totally unresponsive, you get help first, before getting out of your vomit covered clothes. I don't buy that at all.

Agree, or you dial 911 while disrobing at the very least!
If one believes he was wearing any, I don’t

We're getting a little more information regarding the timeline.

During their trip out to sea, the fashion designer’s friends and boyfriend, Nicholas DiRubio, became concerned when she wasn’t answering any messages sent to her.

The panicked pals tracked Nolan’s location to somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean before listing possible reasons for her radio silence.

“lmao. I’m sure her phone died. Or maybe she’s dead,” read one message sent at 9:20 p.m.

Nolan confirmed that she was back at the yacht club 10 minutes later.

“Lol I’m at the yacht club now, my phone is on,” she wrote to the group.

Nolan is believed to have died about an hour after sending the message, according to police.

''The fashion designer found dead on a boat at a Long Island yacht club had “only trace amounts” of cocaine in her system, her family’s autopsy reportedly found, appearing to clash with a statement by cops.

Police cited a white powdery substance near her body and “no signs of violence.” But they also have remained tight-lipped on further details, claiming they are awaiting the final results of their own official autopsy.''

''Nolan-O’Slatarra’s family meanwhile had a separate autopsy conducted on her body, and a source close to her relatives told the Daily Mail, “There was no indication of drugs in her system that would have killed her.''

“There were only trace amounts of cocaine. And it could have been in her system for days.”
