It looks like a husband and wife lived at the address. The current story is that the husband allegedly killed a drug dealer/convicted child molester, dismembered him, and stuck the body parts in their fridge at some point in the past. The husband recently died, and his cause of death isn't being divulged at the moment.

According to NBC New York, on Monday, Jan. 22, someone sent NYPD Crime Stoppers an anonymous tip claiming Kawsheen Gelzer’s body was being stored inside Heather Stines' fridge. Officers went to Stines' residence on Nostrand Avenue in Brooklyn’s Flatbush neighborhood and reportedly noticed a refrigerator with tape on it.

The New York Times reports Stines said her husband killed Gelzer in September during a fight over drugs and his body had been in the refrigerator for many months. She allegedly argued she did not see the killing take place.

According to NBC New York, Stines' husband is currently incarcerated in Virginia.

Gelzer’s cause of death has not been announced yet.

Records show Gelzer is a registered sex offender because he was convicted in 2005 of deviate sexual intercourse with a 12-year-old boy.

I'm not sure I understand the surprise here. I mean it's absolutely sane to store a body in the freezer. What are they put in in the morgue? I'm more shocked by the murder part.

Kawsheen Gelzer, 39, who has been on the state sex offender registry since he was convicted of molesting a 12-year-old boy in 2005, was reportedly killed inside the fourth-floor apartment in September, chopped up and stored in plastic bags inside one tenant’s freezer.

“Everybody in the building knew it,” tenant Dorothy Williams said Thursday.

“Everybody knew he went in there and never came back out. We all talked about it.”
