Starting a thread on this one as one could not be located. A former doctor / podiatrist Ira Bernstein, Rockland County, NY, has been charged a second time for soliciting a hit to murder on his ex wife. He was earlier jailed with a girlfriend for the first ordered hit. In the second solicited hit, his sister Jaclyn Goldberg, a lawyer in NY is also being charged.

Looks like the first attempt was in 2015. So he tried again 8 years later. There’s gotta be something more we can do as a justice system to protect this poor ex of his, because I don’t think she’ll ever be out of danger from him.

So he was sentenced to 5-15 for his first attempt.

But then he gets out after 4 and tries again? And why is his sister helping him? This is nuts.

Yes, this one is bizarre. As I mentioned there is a recent Dateline on the first case. And IIRC his then girlfriend, with whom he hatched and plotted the first attempt was a mortician. Seems one should have realized where this was headed when that was mentioned early in the episode.

And as others have noted, the ex-wife and family should be worried one fears, and hope they are being well protected. MOO
