Weird isn't it?!!! So he tells the doorman he's going to visit another doc who BTW specializes in elderly patients despite not being elderly. And yet, when he opens that docs door neither one recognizes each other and the guy simply says, "she's dead".

I hope the DNA and fingerprints nets a suspect ASAP!

ETA: He may have not known his vic at all. The male doc didn't recognize him. And yet LE theorizes that he came in with a plan and knew the building well as he left via a little known basement door.

He's got to be her patient. I think anyway. Wow, that poor man got grilled for an awful, horrible murder. I'd be crying too.

Is there a back door that the perk went in the building from?
They better check all the cams in the building.....
So they don't have the right pic of the perk either I take it...

That's a good question, Suzi. The adult diapers didn't weird me out as much as the slippers because not too long ago we had a thread going about a pedophile who sold them online. I understand that's a fetish, and not all folks into adult diapers are going to harm someone. Cross dressing doesn't weird me out. Slippers maybe because they are for rest? They are for comfort and specifically for staying in the home? If they would have said seven inch heels and platforms the guy had it just wouldn't have struck me like this. Then again do we know if the clothes were for him? Who were the diapers for? Either way I know something so horrible and depraved should just sicken and shock me altogether. BTW, I checked out places in PA with adult diapers. It's looking like they are all upstate. I wonder if the guitar camp was in Pennsy?

Oh, it was the adult diapers that really made me say, 'wow, it doesn't get much weirder.' I keep saying about this case that you just can't make stuff like this up. If a screenplay had begun with a murder like this before this murder actually happened, it wouldn't have sold.

Whoever this person is, he's immensely dangerous. I don't always think profiler Pat Brown gets it right, but on MSNBC she said a person like this, if not caught quickly, could become a spree killer. I agreed with her on that score.

The story behind this case is going to be interesting. Snips from the below link:
http://www.nypost.com/seven/02142008/news/regionalnews/doc_chop_suspect_in_custody_97652.htm

In the Tueday attack, police say the killer slashed Shinbach in the face, hand and head and pinned him against the wall with a chair, ripped his wallet containing his driver's license from his pants, took $90, and made a dark threat --"I know where you live."
***

The woman had been with Shinbach when he left to run to Faughey's aid. After he didn't return, she went into the waiting area - only to confront the killer, who tried to push her into a bathroom, the sources said.
She told cops she kicked him in the groin, warned him police would be coming, and then locked the door behind him as he fled, the sources said. Video surveillance tapes showed the killer was in the building at 435 E. 79th Street for 59 minutes. He fled through the basement, leaving a carry-on bag and a rolling suitcase behind.
***

Hearing her blood-curdling screams, Shinbach ran into the room. The killer looked him in the eyes and coldly said, "She's dead." Then he unleashed his wrath on Shinbach with another knife. The two struggled for nearly 10 minutes, police said.
***
Officers yesterday were stationed outside the homes of Shinbach and his relatives, as well as some of the other therapists and employees who worked with Faughey.

I think police were interested in the guitarist in PA not only because of his Martin Guitar connection with Dr. Faughey, but because of the "I know where you live" comment to Dr. Shinbach. The only other address I could find for Shinbach was in Pennsylvania. He may have an apt. in Manhattan or simply not work 5 days a week and just take the train in on the days he does work. So that would have been two potential pointers back to PA.

That poor PA guy, if it is indeed not him. It doesn't sound like it is anyways. We know the suspect walked into the building knowing Dr. Shinbach's name. He could have gotten that off of anything. Beyond that, what's the deal here? The connection?

Hmmm, interesting stuff, Steve. Well, here's an excellent link which goes into not only how often patients who seek therapy, but their marriage still fails can be abusive to the therpist. More so than for other issues. Also, this man most likely wanted to "infantilize" the Doctor. I think that's the word. It's in the link. Make her feel helpless. Also, it tells how the Doctor's other patients can have tremendous setbacks now. They will be traumatized. BTW, the man they released named William Kunsman his wife is going with his alibi that he was at home. Could it still be him? They went on that e-mail trail.http://www.abcnews.go.com/Health/story?id=4284604&page=1

I had a thought about the suitcase. From what LE is saying about the suitcases:

The smaller bag contained eight steak knives, duct tape and rope; the second had the women's clothing and diapers.
http://www.nypost.com/seven/02142008/news/regionalnews/doc_chop_suspect_in_custody_97652.htm

I'm thinking the suitcase belongs to another vic, a patient the suspect knew. And the small bag held the suspects bag of "tools".

ETA: Here is where it gets interesting for me. Shinbach treats elderly patients right? The suitcase sounds like it was for an elderly woman. Well this guy, IMO, was bringing her stuff to Shinbach kinda like, "you want her (the suitcase owner), here is her stuff". But the suspect for some reason, probably because he's never met the Shinbach, went to the wrong office.

Was it Michael Kane in it? The young woman patient at one point was in the elevator with him? I can't think of the name of it either. "Dressed To Kill" with Michael Caine. I spelled it wrong. It's a Brian DiPalma film. I think DiPalma's wife was in it, and Angie Dickinson. The transexual guy murders another one of his Doctor's patients.

Steve I'm seeing two places the Doctor lived in Pennsylvania. They are close to New York like ya said and he'd only have to take the train in. The supposed suspect it looks like he's from way up in the Pittsburgh area. Quite a few Kunsman's up in them parts. With that first name.

Suzie Q that is an excellent theory. Yes, like perhaps it was his wife who was the patient and he was taking care of her. That could also explain the bedroom slippers.

Oh I so have to go away from this thread. I get obsessed with these cases. It's just so very, very sad for both the Doctors and their families. Before leaving I have to say maybe we are staring at the most obvious clue. The suitcases are for him. For him because he split and went far away. He left.
