NY NY - East Bronx, Girl, ~5, in Rodman's Neck Park, Aug'57

I agree. Though it's not just the Bronx or the 50's and 60's.
That no one from the family comes forward many years later at least is also not acceptable in my mind. Multiple people knew this child.

There are a few recent cases of Jane Doe babies / children I'm following here, and it's mind-boggling, because they aren't infants. People knew them. They were abused. Yet many remain unidentified so far. :(

We assume people knew them, but look at what happened with the Fritzl case. Those kids were so well hidden and right under the wife, family and neighbours noses.
There's also the case of Genie, she was kept in a locked cupboard and treated absolutely disgustingly by her father for years before she was discovered. No one knew she was even there.

I feel that with one case I covered in particular, Baby Jane Doe of Opelika, AL this was the case for her. No one knew she even existed and her abuser(s) took it too far one day then dumped her body. She still hasn't been identified all these years later.

With a lot of these cases, too, some kids weren't old enough to have seen a dentist so when remains are found they can't be matched that way. Some didn't see a dentist because why would an abusive and neglectful parent let their kid see a dentist if they wouldn't let them out of the home, do you know what I mean?

There's also the infamous Ariel Castro kidnappings and that was more recent than the two examples you gave

Yes pre internet usage life was more beneficial for shady people to carry out illegal activities and get away with it

Since people are generally more preoccupied with their personal lives to be more nosy, not to mention that some communities have a code of silence i.e no snitching for starters, which factors in some cold cases remaining cold

Interestingly most crimes happen during day time though people are more likely to commit crimes during night time, sounds contradictory but real life is not a Mary sue fan fiction

I feel bad for this poor girl, her remains were already decomposed by 1957 so the condition is much worse no,so clearly DNA extraction is not something forensics scientists would do by now,and if possible are all probably not motivated by any means to do so

People have done DNA analysis of remains that are thousands of years old. It's difficult, but it's possible, so hopefully if LE decides to do anything about this case she can be exhumed and DNA extracted. However, my main concern is that she's probably in an unmarked grave somewhere and nobody knows where she's buried.

I know that, dna and carbon testing can be done in dinosaurs that are millions of years old

but it's not the age that's the problem here

it's the fact that her body may not have been preserved well even if she was found after being put in a unmarked grave

nobody was monitoring if animals, bacteria or a unstable soil filled with water have fastened the decomposition process thus making it more difficult than normal to extract DNA from her

I don't see this little-one being identified, sadly. No one seems to be pursuing it. But she is not forgotten.

Moving case up one more time. She's not listed in the NamUs database -- not sure why.
