I came across these body parts found in October 1981 in Brooklyn. The article is vague but sounds like they are talking about a lot of body parts in different weeks but also alit if bodies being found. Which I have not seen any mention in names about but I could be wrong.
Portions of a body apparently dismembered by a power...

I can't find any information on whether or not they ever identified these remains.

BBM.

I wonder where that report comes from. Maybe Dubbs's friends or family?

According to the Charley Project, "Dubbs's partner said he went to the train station as usual that day, but couldn't find Dubbs. He checked another train station, gave up and went home, assuming Dubbs had stayed in New York." If he's telling the truth, I doubt he would've done that if he'd known Dubbs was about to break up with him.

But then this article I found suggests that the two men weren't "partners." According to Detective Daniel McAnaspie, who was working the case as of 2012: "'There definitely seemed to be want of a romantic relationship,' McAnaspie said of the other man, who had known Dubbs for only a few months, having met him through mutual friends and moved in shortly afterward."

To me, this sounds like Dubbs wasn't returning this other man's feelings. Maybe they were sleeping together, but it sounds like this other man, who was 20 years younger, wanted more, and Dubbs didn't. This fits with the report that Dubbs wanted to break things off (ask him to move out?), and also that Dubbs would also sometimes stay in New York randomly without notice. Who would he stay with? Clearly this young man wasn't a priority for Dubbs.

At first my gut suspected the young man, but Police Chief Michael Kehoe believes that "his disappearance may have more to do with the time he spent in New York," and I think that's more likely. If the address above is correct, then he worked at East 39th Street and Madison Avenue in NYC, not too far from the Village. Since Dubbs was known to have frequented the bar car on his commute, what if he decided to go for a drink at a gay bar after work, and hooked up with the wrong guy there?

Newspapers.com I found an original article from 1981 but mentions he had a grey pinstripe suit and a blue shirt.

Which is not what it says on all his profiles Mentions a light colored suit or beige suit.

''Dubbs apparently would sometimes stay in New York rather than commute home, officials said.
Over the years, police have described the relationship between the two men to be of roommates, but there may have been more to it, according to officials.
"There definitely seemed to be want of a romantic relationship," McAnaspie said of the other man, who had known Dubbs for only a few months, having met him through mutual friends and moved in shortly afterward.
While the man remains living in the Northeast, all of Dubbs' relatives, such as his mother have died, which has made the case difficult to solve, officials said.
"There's no one to speak to," McNaspie said.

While police have dental records for Dubbs, there are no fingerprints in the system because there would have been no reason for Dubbs' prints to be on file.
Newtown Police Chief Michael Kehoe also said that while the Newtown department took over the case because Dubbs lived in town, his disappearance may have more to do with the time he spent in New York.
His house on Taunton Lane showed no evidence that he had returned home on the day he disappeared,
police said.''

Oh so sad everyone immediate looking for him has passed away.

So his car is missing also? It’s mentioned that he to frequent contrail train. So that means his car would of been parked at the railroad station in CT. Or did he drive to Manhattan that day.? I read this again and got confused.
