GUILTY NY - Elizabeth Garrow, 19, pregnant, killed, Canastota, 23 Sept 2020 *husband Arrested*

  • #21
Wow she was stabbed to death and a deputy found her body - husband is POI

As a previous victim of DV myself, over 20 years ago, I am hit very hard by Elizabeth’s murder. Oh how I/we wish she could have gotten away from this awful person. She was so young. :(

“criminal obstruction of breathing, a misdemeanor”

Seriously??

I can’t say I recall ever hearing of that charge before. But now that I have, it’s a “misdemeanor”??
I think this might be the most stupid thing I’ve ever seen in my life. (“Ah, don’t worry, nothing major, just a little airway constriction....it’s not like you need air to survive or anything...”)

I agree! It should be called attempted murder. Smh.

Very sorry for this young lady, unborn child, daughter & her family. So sorry she couldn’t get away.

Rsbm:
Garrow leaves behind a 1-year-old daughter. Garrow recently told her sisters she was six weeks pregnant.

And how does/ will a child, and later adult, be able to even process this...I hope the little one will have all the support and love around her as she grows up without her mother.

Met online in spring, married in July, forced her to get a tattoo of his name. Broke the baby's crib and cut up her mattress. She is also not his first DV victim. I remember reading on a forum if DV at some point involves attempted strangulation that they are more likely to kill later on. I expect charges be upgraded soon. Seems like a ticking time bomb. RIP Lizzie.

I know, right? I wonder what @gitana1 has to say about this. I didn’t read the description document associated with the charge that I posted above, but maybe I should. I’m quite curious about this now.

eta: I just read it.
Are you freaking kidding me?

Beating a baby? And destroying her crib and shredding her mattress? :(

While there are no words, at the same time, there are words. I just can’t say them on this forum.

I think we can all agree that everything to do with Elizabeth’s “case” is beyond heartbreaking and infuriating and sickening.

This is just one example of all the many awful things we see here. I’ve been seeing a lot of recent child abuse cases where the kids are locked in some closet or basement, and found starving, covered in feces...siblings deceased...I clicked on about three in a row yesterday....there is never a shortage of child abuse, in the past, in the present, and in the future...My point is that while it is already beyond tragic that this young woman, with her whole life ahead of her, young daughter, baby on the way...was trying to get away from this man...stabbed to death...then you add a baby beaten and the most special, precious place, her crib, destroyed...child left without a mother...it’s always extra hard when children are harmed.

Further posts here will now include domestic violence resources, because really that’s the only way I know how to be productive, or proactive here. Maybe one day someone will read this, and realize it is imperative to get away...you can do it...I know how one can get sucked in, this can happen to even the strongest person...if you don’t get away to save yourself, at least get away if you can to also save your children...there is hope. And there is a lot of support out there. I know because I’ve been there. And I had people who helped me. Helped me escape. They came out of nowhere like angels when I needed them.

Domestic Violence is already so common as it is, and then you add this pandemic which is known to accelerate this. I’ve listened to Doctor Tedros (WHO) talk about this many times.

I’m going to check WS database resources forum and see what we have here as far as links to DV organizations, etc.

She was trying to get away.

This man will never change. He needs to be locked away for life. In solitary, for the protection of other inmates and staff.

@margarita25 You deleted your post, so I'm not sure what your response was going to be, but I also want to add I'm glad you are safe and thank you for trying to help others who feel trapped.

When Oneida County Sheriff's deputies arrived, they found two parties at the residence with head and facial injuries.

McDonald was charged with two counts of third-degree assault and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

So he beat the baby too.

I think endangering the child means he beat the mum while child was present. There would be a seperate assault charges for that wouldn’t there?

The Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office determined Garrow’s cause of death was homicide. She was stabbed multiple times.

Investigators believe Garrow died Wednesday, the day she went missing.

McDonald, who is in jail on a probation violation, is a “person of interest” in the case. McDonald has invoked his right to remain silent.

It was a sheriff’s deputy on his regular shift who found the body Sunday who thought to walk through the area of Canastota Recreation Park off North Main Street while he was working around 9 a.m. where he spotted the body hidden off the beaten path.

Madison County sheriff confirms body was missing woman, stabbed multiple times

Family members and friends say Garrow had an order of protection against her husband, and was six weeks pregnant with McDonald's child. Garrow had a 1-year-old daughter by another father.

I don't think inmates and guards are very impressed with people who murder their girlfriends

I was wondering if it possible he was the one injured, and not the baby. He did destroy the crib. I need to reread the article.

My understanding is the crib he destroyed was Elizabeth's daughter's but the child he hurt was another child. He also has a daughter so I wonder if it was his daughter he hurt.

I wonder if this was premediated , if he is the culprit where would he have stabbed her in his car?

Looking on the bright side...there is another one locked up for a very long time.

Becoming pregnant in America is certainly dangerous for women, in ways they probably had not thought...

JMO but I read once that the most glaring sign that your significant other is going to kill you is when he/she strangles you or obstructs your breathing.
Major. Red. Flag. JMO.
