Lured him into bodega basement which was open as Hernandez was bringing goods from storage up to the store.

Body was then taken a block or block and a half away and put in garbage.

Thanks, WFG.

In a box?

Motive mentioned?

I believe Kelly said, "Days later, he terminated his work there."

Thank you. I think that would tend to confirm the story he is now telling.

So then Jose Ramos didnt do it??:waitasec: It gets me how they where so confident it was him. Wasnt there even a civil judgement against him in the case?

So Pedro Hernandez never committed a homicide after this solo, heinous murder of an innocent child? He got on the straight and narrow path, and exerted complete control over his homicidal tendencies for 33 years. So, I suppose: Where there's a will, there's a way. Mind over matter.

Man, who knew P Hernandez back then, was interviewed just now on NY1: said he believes he was? capable of this; said they called him, Pedro _______(In Spanish-did not recognize word.).

Robert Morgenthau, who was DA for close to 35 years, has always insisted that there has never been sufficient evidence to convene a grand jury against Ramos. I don't believe he has ever wavered on that.

But a judge did deam in a civil trial that he was guilty of causing the death and awarded the family 2 million (never paid however)

No one was ever criminally charged in the disappearance, but in 2004 the Patz family won a $2 million civil judgment against Jose Antonio Ramos, a friend of Patz's babysitter, who has denied any involvement in Patz's disappearance. The sum has not been paid.

I really hope that this civil judgement against Ramos doesn't complicate the case against Hernandez!

I really hope this isn't another John Mark Karr. :(

The balance of probability is very different in civil and criminal trials, so this should be too much of a problem.

It strikes me that way but lets hope that they have the right guy or soon will have. I'll be surprised if this guy is ever convicted at least from what I see currently.

NYPD's going to have some serious egg on the face if this turns sour. I think they're a cut above Boulder PD though (understatement), so we'll see.

Stabbing and dismembering and placed in bags in a box.
If this is all true maybe he will confess to where the boys remains are.

Just now catching up on this thread but isn't this just a bit odd, that the perp claims to have dismembered Etan when Etan's case was mentioned recently along with the Leiby Kletzy case.

I'm getting John Karr vibes....

still need to finish catching up on teh thread.

Arraignment tomorrow.

It is hard for me to believe that someone stole the box with the dead child inside.

Exactly. Or that someone just happened to stumble upon a box with a dead childs body and didn't report it to police.

I mean really, just how does a box with a dead child's body happen to be left out in the open in a city the size of New York and the person who stumbles upon it doesn't report it to police.

Still trying to catch up. Still have John Karr vibes with this guy.

I'm really curious to hear more about or from these people he allegedly confessed to years ago. Two wives and neither came forward?

I'm going to need a lot more information before I am convinced this guy isn't just another John Mark Karr.

I'm feeling skeptical about the box too. Maybe he tied it up with rope or something. We store our Christmas tree that way, with rope looped around the box to keep it shut, and I can see where a body could stay hidden for a day or two in a box like that.

I agree they are a cut above Boulder PD, but, I think it already has turned sour.

They follow the evidence, what can they do?

P.S. Anyone just hopping on, please note, that the reporting right now is absolutely all over the place. The Commissioners presser should help clarify things alot, I only transcribed what I could, my streaming was not great. I will see if I can find a copy of the presser online.
