Hunter searching for deer fires arrow at moving shape - only to hit his own son

A hunter bagged an unexpected prize while searching for deer to kill – his own son.

The hunter became the hunted after bungling David Minney, 79, fired an arrow at a target only to hit his 52-year-old son Brett.

Minney senior was stunned when he heard a man’s voice scream out – and even more shocked when it was revealed to be his own son.

Sheriff David Bartlett warned other hunters to be wary of what they are firing at and know what is behind their intended targets.

Emergency services raced to the scene at around 6.40pm and took the injured man to hospital by air ambulance.
