*Preliminary Hearing (@ ET) – NY – Gabriella Maria Boyd (2) (April 28, 2018, Mamaroneck) – *Cynthia P. Arce (28) “mom” arrested (4/20/18) & charged & indicted (9/12/18) & arraigned (9/17/18) with 2nd degree murder (Class A felony), charged (4/30/18) & arraigned (9/18/18) with 2 counts of attempted aggravated murder of 2 police officers (Class A felony), 2 counts of attempted aggravated assault on 2 police officers (Class C felony) & 2 counts of 2nd degree assault (Class D felony). Plead not guilty. No bond.
Two LE were trying save her baby. Arce was in intensive care at Westchester Medical Ctr. w/3 gunshot wounds.

Cynthia Arce offered 25 years to life to cover daughter's slaying and stabbing of 2 cops


The Mamaroneck mother accused of killing her toddler would get no extra prison time for stabbing two police officers who tried to save the girl if she pleads guilty and takes the maximum 25 years to life for the slaying.

Cynthia Arce initially rejected the offer during an appearance Tuesday before state Supreme Court Justice Barry Warhit, who said it will only be available until she is next in court on Sept. 6.

Warhit's plea offer would require Arce to plead guilty to the attempted murder of the police officers as well but her prison terms for those would run concurrently to the murder sentence. He reminded her that she could face consecutive sentences if she goes to trial and is convicted of all charges. Those sentences could total 75 years to life.

Cynthia Arce's attorney says they are reviewing the deal in which she would receive 25 years to life.

However, it's not clear if a decision will be made by Arce's next court date on Sept. 6.

The medical examiner called the little girl's death a homicide but an exact cause was "undetermined.”

Cynthia Arce pleads guilty in Mamaroneck daughter's death


A Mamaroneck woman has pleaded guilty in the killing of her 2 1/2-year-old daughter last year.

Cynthia Arce admitted in Westchester County Court today that she intended to kill her daughter, Gabriella Boyd, and that she stabbed two Mamaroneck village police officers who tried to save the girl when they responded to a 911 call on April 28, 2018.

Arce pleaded guilty to felony charges of second-degree murder, for the death of Gabriella, and attempted aggravated assault, for the stabbing of officers Osvaldo Ramos and Joseph Gaglione, who were in court for Arce's plea.

Arce's lawyer, Richard Portale, withdrew his motion for a psychiatric defense for Arce. State Supreme Court Justice Barry Warhit promised Arce a prison sentence of 25 years to life when she is sentenced on Oct. 31.

'Special category of evil': Mom Cynthia Arce sentenced for killing daughter


A Mamaroneck woman was sentenced today to 25 years to life in prison for killing her 2 1/2-year-old daughter last year.

Cynthia Arce is in a "special category of evil" for killing her daughter, Gabriella Boyd, state Supreme Court Justice Barry Warhit said today as he sentenced the 30-year-old in Westchester County Court.

"You extinguished a young, beautiful girl's life," Warhit told Arce.

Gabriella's father, Stephen Boyd, spoke in court, where he called Arce an "evil, selfish baby killer."
