My "I survived 2017 Giraffe Watch" blanket finally came in handy! I had a dang tooth fall out of my head yesterday and today they had to pull what was left and prep it for an implant so I found out the underside was perfect to put between my jaw and an ice pack. Cannot think of a better way to do this!

Now, my PSA, DO NOT SMOKE and if you take meds that dry you out, make sure you use something like XyliMelts. I swear you would think I was a Meth head with all of the dental work I have had! It does not take long for your teeth to deteriorate, either. I missed 2 cleanings and my mouth went to crap during that time. We are on top of everything now and I still had the one newly recapped tooth fail.
The

The way you worded it is hysterical

tooth fall out of my head

I hope your not in pain and feel better

I love this one, cause Scooter has been doing this from probably day 2 of his life. I don't think anyone expected Oliver and him to bond like they have.

Precious Moments!

That is what I thought too I did not like the way made it sound he is just a "bull
sexist !!!

Awesome picture

That moment when you are at the dentist office (where you have spent $25,000 worth of time in the last 6 months) discussing manicures and you admit you have never had one because you do not like people touching you and you say, "I know that is hard to believe because I always have someone in my mouth." I should never have gotten out of bed today.

I am sorry CARIIS, can you not see them? They are really good!!

Okay, just kidding, there are no sketches posted here yet. We are hoping some are posted soon, though.

First sentence you scared me to death!!

You should have seen the look on my husband's face before he completely lost his composure and had to walk out the door as I was picking my own jaw up off the floor.

O/T:

I totally empathize with you, Pink. I neglected my teeth for a few weeks after I had foot surgery in Nov. When I went to the dentist in Jan, it was 7 months since my last appt and so, with the neglect, I had a lot of tartar buildup. At least, that was the excuse the hygienist used for being so forceful when cleaning my teeth. The dentist came in and looked at my teeth and said all was well. They said I was due for x-rays but asked if it was okay to skip them because the x-ray room was very busy.

Well, my teeth and gums hurt for several days afterwards. I don't remember my teeth ever hurting after a dental cleaning before, even when I'd let years lapse between checkups. Less than 2 weeks after the appt, part of a tooth broke off while I was eating tortilla chips and salsa. (Strange!) The following day I tried calling the dentist's office after work (shortly after noon), but a recording said they closed at noon. I found 3 different emergency numbers for them, but they all routed me back to the answering service which was no help.

I've never gone back to get my tooth fixed (I put the broken piece of tooth in a little baggie, but don't know if it can be repaired) because the next day I started having severe back pain and went through a couple of months of PT and chiropractic treatment before I could even lie on my back. Also, I started on Medicaid and I'm not sure they'd allow me another visit in less than 6 mos. And, I'm certainly not going back to the previous dentist! Yikes!

I'm afraid, though, wherever I go they'll have to pull out what's remaining of my tooth and put in an implant like you had done. I'm not looking forward to it. :notgood:

These babies aren't still in their mommy's tummy, but Ringo and Omni are cute. They're rhino calves abandoned by their mothers and raised by humans:

What a horrible experience! As far as your tooth, you may just need a cap put on if the tooth just chipped. I had to have the implant because it was a tooth that had a previous root canal and it completely broke off leaving nothing to adhere a cap to. Also, a visit for a dental issue should be covered because your last appointment was a routine 6 month cleaning so I would call and get in somewhere before things get worse.

Oh my gosh, too cute! I remember watching a documentary about a family that raised an abandoned Rhino and they kept him until he got too big to where it became too dangerous to keep him. If I remember correctly, the kids got such a kick out of riding the little guy around the yard. It was very interesting.

I don't think there's enough tooth left for a cap. It was the whole lower portion of a canine; I can feel a lot of gum underneath and in the back.

I can't recall who here originally turned us on to tinykittens.com (Evolyn and Corsica) ... but a big shout out and thanks.

Their facebook page yesterday had the heartmelting video of another feral...Mason and his story.. that just turned my heart to mush with the posting.

ETA: :floorlaugh: as usual... I come into a thread and post something, and THEN read upthread to see what I thought was new news has already been posted.

Oh well lol.

ETA #2: Corsica is live on youtube right now! and licking away! awwwwww

Who gave her that pink divan :giggle:

This was so sweet, the thanks button was not enough.

I shared it with a friend whose husband passed away a week ago somewhat unexpectedly (he was nearly 70 with diabetes and his health was failing). She emailed me back to say how much it brought her tears of joy for the special bond of these precious beings.

So consider yourself thanked by my friend Char too :seeya:
