No, but until LE makes an official statement to MSM - the circumstances of Halo's death can't be discussed :(

What a beauty! Those long eyelashes above those big, beautiful eyes and her perfect complexion.
Yes, Halo, you are an angel now.

Initially categorized as a missing person's case, Macherone said during the briefing that it is now being treated as a criminal investigation.

Police said they are in contact with multiple people regarding Halo’s disappearance and death, but did not say they had any suspects or persons of interest currently.

MAR 11, 2024
A source close to the investigation told the Times Union that she was found in a shed on the General Electric campus in the city located about 15 miles outside of Albany. First responders rushed the girl to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

So far, no arrests have been made.

Court documents allege Persia M. Nelson dropped the infant down a 10-foot "pipe access area" that was filled with water and mud at the base, causing the child's fatal injuries.

Nelson was arraigned in Schenectady City Court Monday morning and remanded on $500,000 cash bail or $1 million bond.

The mother of a baby whose disappearance prompted an Amber Alert Sunday was arraigned on a second degree manslaughter charge Monday morning in Schenectady City Court.

[...]

Court documents said Nelson dropped the baby down an approximately 10-foot-deep pipe access area at GE’s main plant. The documents say there was water and mud at the base that caused Halo’s death.

Dropped down a pipe? Was she on something?

The weird thing is that Halo has Frank's sign on her ears--the lower lobe fold--that's been associated with heart problems and end of-life. I wish someone would not have pointed that out to me when my mother was near death--but they did--and now I spot it like an eagle. I'm sure there are other reasons for Frank's sign, but it's odd that it appears on Halo's little ears.

The mother is expected to be charged with second degree manslaughter. Is that all?

It's because of the intoxication part--

MANSLAUGHTER IN THE SECOND DEGREE
(Reckless Homicide)
Penal Law § 125.15(1)
(Committed on or after Sept. 1, 1967)
The (specify) count is Manslaughter in the Second Degree.
Under our law, a person is guilty of Manslaughter in the
Second Degree when that person recklessly causes the death of
another person.

[NOTE: Where there is evidence of voluntary intoxication on the
part of the defendant, add:
A person also acts recklessly when he or she creates such
a risk but is unaware of that risk solely by reason of his or her
voluntary intoxication

It's a class C felony punishable

New York Manslaughter in the Second Degree is a Class “C” Non-Violent Felony. As such, this charge is punishable by up to 5 to 15 years in prison. The minimum sentence on Manslaughter in the Second Degree is 1 to 3 years incarceration.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they let her plead it down even further sadly

If you are referring to her car seat photo, it appears the harness is causing her right lower lob to fold because of pressure.

WTH??? Wow. Why didn’t she just call 911??? Halo could have been saved. Maybe she would have been charged with something, but had Halo lived it would probably be far less severe than 2nd degree manslaughter. Even if she didn’t, calling 911 would still probably have resulted in a lesser charge.

I want this mom to get charged w/ reckless endangerment, child neglect…I hope a judge throws the BOOK at her! I’m sorry, I’m sure it was a drunken accident but I’m too angry to be lenient. I perused her FB page and it was absolutely vile. She was clearly more concerned with partying and baby daddy drama than the safety and wellbeing of her children.

That poor baby. I feel so badly for the father and his son…he was trying to get custody for a reason, obviously. If I were him or her son, I would never forgive her. Never. This was completely preventable, at a minimum Halo could have been saved. Some people just don’t deserve to be parents and this woman is one of them.
