Google Maps

the link above shows the abandoned building the body was found according to the photo the article used.
I started looking.
the google maps link goes as far back as 2009 when it was occupied with stores on the bottom. The top portion of the building looked like it had been boarded up for some time prior to the 2009 google photo.

2011 looks like the stores began to move out
2013 looks like scaffolding was put up.
2016 looks like the scaffolding had netting and a couple of tiers above the scaffolding with what looks like a ladder..this is all behind the netting.
2017 the netting is off and scaffolding is gone.. But there is New wood replaced on some of the windows.. which means at some point those windows did not have anything covering them.. Someone could of gotten in then.. this is just a thought.

Busy bee Madamx. Nicely done. There sure are a lot of "potentials". We have to wait and see if they can find out more about the remains. I think it would be relatively easy to see if we are dealing with a child or an adult. The list of complaints is also interesting in relations to this; construction work without permission. Is there more to know about the circumstances. Were the remains concealed? And where is the rest of the skeleton?

There have been no more remains than just one and a half legs, is that correct?

The workers reportedly found a femur and a leg.

Reading this back it sound a bit silly that they found a leg (stated in the article) I assume they meant the leg bones.

Yeah I know I was actually trying to picture what they found... The reporting is Just slightly vague!!!

Human remains found inside abandoned Harlem building: police
"It is not clear when the remains were found, but police said they appeared to be at the location for a long time."
Workers Find Human Leg in Abandoned Building: NYPD

"Police believe the building has been abandoned since 1980. A man who works in the area said a store used to be on the ground floor of the building about six or seven years ago -- but nobody has lived elsewhere in the building for a long time."
Great find! Oh geeze 1980 that IS a long time. I wonder how long it was Bricked and boarded up. That could possibly help narrow things down.. I think.

I think the only way into the building would be through the front door. Which would be facing the street like the storefronts do. I doubt you can get into the building through the stores. Unless they have a shared basement. I wonder what the back of the building looks like and if it has fire escapes.

I wonder if there are more body parts around in the building or if that leg belongs to any other body part that has been found randomly in the city at one point or another.
