Been looking for an image of the building in the 1980s but I could not find it as I have with other buildings for some reason. DOB did not have this one on file. I did come across this video which is good. I have to look at the building on Google to see if it matches to any on the video.

Human remains found inside abandoned Harlem building: police
"It is not clear when the remains were found, but police said they appeared to be at the location for a long time."
Workers Find Human Leg in Abandoned Building: NYPD

"Police believe the building has been abandoned since 1980. A man who works in the area said a store used to be on the ground floor of the building about six or seven years ago -- but nobody has lived elsewhere in the building for a long time."

Thanks Dotr. That settles for the leg bone (and the femur)

ok..now I am confused this article says The NYPD says a leg bone and femur were found on fourth floor of the building at 54 West 125th St. Workers were there removing asbestos at the time. All the articles say something different.. Last one was a leg and a femur which made it seem like it was and entire leg and a separate femur... ahhh you gotto love news reporting these days!

I think there may be some people (I won't mention that some may be reporters!) who don't realize that the femur is a leg bone. MOO
