seems the case may not be as strong as first purported, I do hope that the state does not do a Duke and continues with it if they do not have either enough evidence or her credibility will not withstand a thorough examination by very good defence attorneys,

they need to decide wyhether they have a strong enough case ot not and do it quickly, it is not fair to either the victim or the accused to have such uncertainty

if the prosecution are not willing to go to the wall for hee then they need to tell her so

Strauss-Kahn Prosecutors Said to Agree to Release

Strauss-Kahn, accused of a sexual attack on a hotel maid in New York, will have his bail returned and would still be subject to travel restrictions while he faces charges, said the people, who didn’t want to be identified because they aren’t authorized to speak on the matter.

Hotel maid in Strauss-Kahn case speaks out
July 24, 2011

"The New York hotel maid who accused former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn of attempting to rape her said in an interview published on Newsweek's website on Sunday that he appeared as a "crazy man" and attacked her when she entered his room.
ND [EBM] also gave the newsmagazine and ABC News permission to identify her by name.

The magazine interview marks the first time the 32-year-old Guinean immigrant to the United States has publicly spoken to the media since she shocked the world with allegations that Strauss-Kahn emerged naked from the bathroom of his luxury suite on May 14 and forced her to perform oral sex...."

and

"...."I want justice. I want him to go to jail," she said in excerpts from the ABC News interview released on Sunday. "I want him to know that there is some places you cannot use your money, you cannot use your power when you do something like this..."

I've never been able to figure out if this alleged incident ever happened or not. It really could go either way, IMHO. Even the allegations pending in Europe COULD be bogus.

This is a guy heavily into world politics. This could all have been a set-up to discredit this guy and get him out of the IMF and ousted as a contender for was it? President of France candidate?

Anyway, that's for another forum, (pp), but like I said, I haven't figured it out.

Thanks for the link.

And even if it did happen, if the prosecution doesn't think it can prove it, they have to drop the charges. I personally tend to believe the allegations in Europe, but that woman never reported it in time. So that case is not likely to go anywhere either.

motion filed to dismiss all charges, Judge expected to rule tomorrow that all charges are dismissed

I think this case will be very damaging to other rape victims who come forward, the alleged victim in this case should have been upfront with any lies she may have told with the investigators from day 1, and to file her civil suit pre the criminal trial wasn't the best way to do things, it only adds to those voices who say she was in it for the money

I personally am DISGUSTED by this man. Based on many women from the past who have come forward, and also based on many background articles I've read, I firmly believe this perv is guilty as hell and only his $$$ casts "reasonable doubt"; blows my mind to think ANYONE seriously views him as a "railroaded" "victim," UGH. >: (

Reasonable doubt doesn't have anything to do with money. Prosecution has an accuser whom they themselves don't think is credible beyond a reasonable doubt. How in the world would they be able to convince a jury if they themselves don't find the woman very credible? There are no other witnesses to what happened, and prosecution said the woman was not truthful with them on a variety of topics. It frankly would not be ethical for the prosecution to take this to trial. It might have happened like the alleged victim said it did, but to convict one has to be reasonably sure. And the case from France most likely won't go anywhere either because the girl from France didn't report it at the time she claims it happened.

DSK arrested by police for ‘complicity in pimping’,
via sex parties all over the world
Neal Sears, Mail Online, February 22, 2012

Dominique Strauss-Kahn was last night being held in police custody as officers questioned him over an international prostitution ring.

[...]

Strauss-Kahn, 62, whose wife Anne Sinclair is standing by him, has made the extraordinary claim that he was unaware the women at the orgies were prostitutes because ‘they were naked at the time’.
