Glad to know I am not only one around. And that you come worth saying about it too. It helps to clear more of the misconceptions around and point out, that something is wrong with her - and that it isn't necessarily the easiest (and highly stigmatized) issue of ASD.

but seriously, for the allistic (non-autistic) group members, unless she had a very specific autism presentation, one that mimics stereotypes seen in films like Rainman, she wouldn’t have been diagnosed in childhood. Adult diagnosis is even less likely.

All JMO and i’m not offended nor do i think anything malicious was said by anyone on this thread. But I really want to stress that violence towards others isn’t part of the autism experience™️. As evidenced by the numerous missing children cases in here, it would seem that autism makes us targets for violence.

I think that it’s important to correct these misconceptions about autistic folks in here bc it’s not a huge leap from “Autistic ppl can’t connect with other human beings” to “autistic ppl are so ‘disconnected’ from other people that they could murder them and not feel bad.”

It’s actually the other way around: bc we connect differently than expected, people can justify killing us. They see us as ‘too needy’ while simultaneously ‘ungrateful’ bc we don’t perform gratitude the way ppl expect.

As for this lil guy, i don’t have much hope for him being found alive and well somewhere, sadly. I guess I’m hopeful that the mom is more forthcoming with info in the psych evaluation and they can at least figure out what happened to him and hold her accountable (if she indeed is culpable).

It does seem like many girls and women on the spectrum are never diagnosed, which is terrible. But I've noticed some adults do finally end up being diagnosed after their child is diagnosed. Hopefully they check her for it when they're evaluating her...not that it matters much now.

MISSING BOY: Police have released a new computer-generated image of missing 11-year-old Jacob Pritchett. https://bit.ly/47LvfXJ

Police have released a new computer-generated image of missing 11-year-old Jacob Pritchett.

The image is an attempt to predict what Pritchett would like today, police say.

The Brooklyn mom who eerily told cops her missing 11-year-old non-verbal autistic son never existed is now being held on Rikers Island, law enforcement sources said Monday.

*****
Now, his 53-year-old mom – who is not officially being identified by police – is being held on Rikers Island on a Brooklyn Family Court warrant for failure to produce the child, the sources said.

I wonder that they are still not naming the mother, what could be the reason herefor now as she is now on Rikers Island?

Not naming her is odd seeing as they've named her son and released a photo of her face. I can only assume it wouldn't be too difficult for someone to find her name if they tried

I agree. It is odd. Does anyone know why LE would withhold the name of a POI if they were OK releasing their pic?

A photo might help in investigation but given the suspected mh related needs of mom, they would wait on a name? Or consider mom might also be a victim of something?

No clue I’m just reaching

I'm thinking Mom must also be a victim, but of who or what? If she isn't a victim could she be so mentally diminished that they won't release her name?

HIPPA maybe if she is mentally ill with psychosis? I really don't know why her name is being so closely guarded.

I find it strange as well, that the name is withheld from public. I find publishing a picture more problematic than a name, since changing your face is much harder than changing your name.

Have we seen much about the interactions neighbors had with mom specifically?

No updates 😔

What I gathered from previous articles about the case is, that she kept to herself quite a lot. There is not really anyone talking, whom seems to really know her. But that's how things seems to me.

That’s what I’ve seen too. I wonder if they’ve spoken to LE regarding her own mental status

How long can they hold her? At least served her with a warrant. Unlike the Melodee Buzzard case where the child is no where to be found and the mom is home. MOO

I can't find anyone on the inmate search with the last name of Pritchette, maybe mom has a different last name.

It is likely, since finding any information about her is extremely hard. Pritchett could be last name of the father (or alleged father)? Could be too, that she has had no online presence either? Just my speculations in here, extremely since she is on the older side. Perhaps accessing rental records would unlock more info?? (if the records are available that is.)

I also find it very strange that a photograph of the mother has been publicly released but her name is being withheld. If it's a HIPAA related thing, her face shouldn't be released either.
