I’m curious if it was a “find my iPhone” situation where they were able to place him on the bridge specifically because the subway runs parallel to it but offset. It if was a precise enough of a location to put him on the bridge, it’s have to be by bus, by car, or by foot.

Both the nearest B52 stop and the A train are close and in a busy shopping area. There would be loads of CCTV either way.

I was also curious if student OMNY cards were trackable to a particular person and it looks like they are.

And it absolutely did get cold - and has stayed cold - since then.
The OMNY can be used to track when it is used but not where. (I just checked my own OMNY account.) Perhaps school-issued accounts are different, but I don't suspect so.

Also, the subway entrances and exits have cameras at the turnstiles. I don't think all busses have cameras on the passengers, but some might?

Interesting to note in the video of him leaving the house, not only doesn't he have on a coat, he also isn't carrying a backpack.

The "drama" involved (4 AM WhatsApp calls, no coat, not showing up to meet friends, no school since 12/1) doesn't sound like a spontaneous spat with a parent followed by hiding out at a friend's house.

We don't know if there's been family discord or custody issues, or if he has relatives within driving distance. However, any adult who truly cares for him knows he's a good student who needs to be in school, and two weeks is too long for a friend to be hiding him. So those elements seem unlikely.

I feel there's a controlling older male involved that J thought he knew. As ever, LE knows more than we do.

Jafet’s father, Federico Jemmott, said they got into a fight the previous night because Jafet wanted to go shopping at a thrift store in Brooklyn, before going to the Kings Plaza mall with friends, News 12 reported....
Visit in a thrift store is a weird reason to get into a fight with your kid at the holiday table. Just sayin'.

My guess is he wanted some money to spend and was denied. Or perhaps it was the idea of the hanging out with friends that sparked the argument. Or maybe what he wanted to buy was the point of contention. We really don't know the dynamics.

We also don't know how, where, or if they had a holiday celebration. No other family members seem to be around? idk. Apparently the dad went to work on that Friday. Did he expect his son to stay home on the school holiday?

At this point, I'm hoping he's with someone he knows and is safe. If that is the case, he needs to let someone know.

It's cold out there and he left home without a coat.
