We are seeking public assistance in locating 50-year-old Jared Oswald. Oswald was last seen wearing a gray hoodie, green t-shirt, and blue jeans. Based upon unique circumstances, it is believed that Oswald may be in danger. Anyone with information is encouraged to call 911.

Family and friends search for missing man

I'm gonna go search in that area early this Sunday evening. Happen to know the park and areas surrounding it very well.

His phone pinged the tower by the west end of the park, and some towers further west into the Town of Greece.

I searched much of the park area early last evening for roughly 2 hours. In a large section of the park it's very muddy after all of the rain we've had recently, plus the terrain, thickness of dead leaves, and dense vegetation make for a difficult walk. Area north of Riverside Cemetery, a little creek rises in the cemetery and leads to a nice waterfall in the gorge, along one of the asphalt trails.

I searched north of the cemetery. Saw evidence someone slipped right where I was heading into that area, however no prints after that, direction of the creek. No other shoe or boot prints in that area, so must be searchers on Saturday morning didn't head there.

Down in the gorge are the remains of what was a major coal transfer dock, the cement base supports are there as well as other evidence of its existence. People do live there, I came across a homeless camp of sorts, with evidence of recent fires.

I checked the steep drop offs in the gorge near the turnaround basin, there are ways to walk some of the steep embankments for folks who are physically able.

Hoping for the best, it's just difficult to think there will be a positive resolution.

Thank you for your post and searching @Falling Down. Your description of the area does sound like it would be hard to search the ground thoroughly. In my opinion it would be quite difficult to successfully locate many missing folks. Searchers like yourself make such a difference.

Loved ones, police scour Turning Point Park for missing Rochester man

Jared Oswald, 50, of Rochester was last seen on Monday, May 19.

Members of the department have searched areas within the park for him for the past week, said Capt. Greg Bello of the Rochester Police Department. Oswald's relatives have also formed a large search party over the holiday weekend and helped scour the area.

Turning Point Park is located in a Charlotte neighborhood and covers 275 acres along the banks of the Genesee

I decided to go out on my own and poke around near where I'd searched where there's some difficult terrain close to Riverside cemetery. Found a trail at the top of the gorge near the cemetery and where there's marshland by it. Came across a swamp and a wild turkey strutting around.

The searchers were doing detailed searches down in the gorge, and up near the cemetery. One search group included family, we exchanged pleasantries.

Folks have indicated they've searched on the other side of the river in Seneca Park and that general area.

IMO, Jared did not stay in Turning Point Park long, and moved on to somewhere else west of the river.

How thoughtful of you to search again @Falling Down. I’m sure the family appreciates all the assistance they can get.

In your opinion, If Mr Oswald did travel on west of the river, what is in that direction? Are there cities, rivers, woods, interstates? How likely would it be for someone to pick him up? Or more likely he’s still on foot?

Sorry, that wasn't really clear (long day). Since we can't give specific info from FB as it's "rumor" I was just trying to state that they (the family) had asked for privacy, however they had given details in their online posts that would explain to someone reading WHY Jared is considered missing AND endangered (since that information isn't in MSM, I couldn't share it directly here).
