You have a three year old, and you are okay with her/him going to a sleepover. But before she/he leaves the child has a fever and coughing. You give medicine (unnamed so I don't know what it was).
She/he seems better, so do you let her/him go ahead?
You give medicine to sitter with instructions?
You call later that night/ next morning/ next day lunchtime to see how he/she is doing,?
Covid is deadly for literally everyone. People react to it differently, it doesn't matter if you're young or old, healthy or not. Yeah, sure, by logic, a healthy child should not die from any virus but it happens, and it sure happens with Covid.Lloyd said she believes her daughter contracted COVID-19 at daycare earlier in the week, and was told by doctors that she tested positive for the virus. Charges deferred for Bronx grandfather who took dying girl on two-hour ride to Queens hospital
Tragic if this death is Covid related. Mom states that she gave her daughter fever reducer. So much for the disease not necessarily deadly for kids if this is Covid.
The medical center he took her to is Cohen's Children's Hospital, part of LIJ. It is a very well thought of hospital.
I agree. Like I said upthread I think (JMO) that most of his thoughts were about getting his parole revoked and getting sent back in.This seems like it was much more a "babysitting" thing and not a "sleepover" for fun. Maybe they just called it a sleepover because the kids like spending time together and like to call it that. And I say all this to say perhaps the parent of this child works nights and couldn't call out sick/was desperate for a sitter. Normally, if you had a choice in the matter, you would not send a sick child to a sitter.
However, I don't think this child died of COVID. I also don't think this man set out to take this child to the hospital, which is why it took him so long to get there. His stop at the Bodega may have been an attempt at an alibi for whatever original plan was in his head. Eventually, for some reason, he decided on the hospital.
All my opinion!
