GUILTY NY - Jeanine Cammarata, 37, teacher, didn’t show up at work, Staten Island, 30 Mar 2019 *ARRESTS*

I think there is a word missing in the reporting. I'm guessing it should read: "But a surveillance video acquired by police showed him with a large bag leaving his Rockaways apartment shortly after Jeanine ARRIVED, then later showing up at the storage facility on Arden Ave."

I think the word I have in caps, "ARRIVED" plus the comman is missing from the article. Otherwise, it really doesn't make much sense. I think Jeanine arrived at the Rockaway home, was killed there, removed from that location in a bag, and put into the storage facility.

Not the outcome we wanted, but it fits the pattern we've all seen before.

Sad day.

We posted same thing at same time. I agree.

Yes, Fox 5 Live just said that the surveillance video shows him "dragging" the bag out of his apartment so that makes sense

Where was his girlfriend throughout all of this? So sad!

  • #184
How does his current girlfriend cover for him, stay with him???

  • #185
It appears he was abusive to her all along, physically and emotionally. And, now it appears he has finally killed her. Sad that someone didn't haul his butt away before he had the chance to take her life. MOO

Sloppy reporting. Not sure why he would take the body back to Staten Island when he was so close to the ocean.

ETA: Maybe he followed her home after she left his apartment. Would explain the broken glass the landlord heard.
Body on SI instead of close to his home in Rockaway...he thought he wouldn't be a suspect? I already had him pegged as suspect #1, no matter where they found her. IMO

I am thinking the girlfriend is the one seen leaving in Jeanine's car. Maybe this guy drops her at the storage facility and then goes to her home, breaks a window to make it look like an intruder?

I assumed all along the husband killed her based on their past relationship and the legal involvement in the custody dispute. Hopefully, they can find her body soon, and put him behind bars. But his wife isn't his only victim. Their children, who now will be without both parents, are the final victims in this scenario, forever scarred by the violence of the man who should have been the protector of the family.

Not a surprising outcome. Statistically, we know the most dangerous time in a domestic violence relationship is when the victim leaves (Most dangerous time for battered women? When they leave. and Domestic Abuse Shelter - A New Beginning). I think it is important to note that her friend who continued to text her to call and prove it was her was doing the right thing to get assurances that it was her.

Now, it is time for more investigation and possible arrests. The girlfriend who says JC was there and left has to be the next focus of this murder investigation.

I hope the children are with someone who really can provide support and get them counseling. They had to have seen a lot in their short lifespans.

I wonder if the gf is going to face charges, as well. The gf admits Jeanine was there resting that night. The ex says he had sex with Jeanine that night (more likely rape, IMO), and then kills Jeanine and hauls her body away. And the gf does.......what, exactly?

How are others interpreting the sentence about husband and Jeanine leaving his Far Rockaway home?

It reads as though after she left his Far Rockaway home alive, he snatched and murdered her elsewhere
I'm interpreting as shortly after she arrived at his house, he left with a bag.

I'm betting the word "arrived" was left out of that statement, as in he was seen leaving his apartment with a bag shortly after Jeanine arrived (at his apartment). Why oh why would she go to his apartment? Alone? Where are the kids?

I'm really hoping that his gf had the kids with her when he killed their mom. If only for the kids not be there and for the gf not to help him
It's all so very tragic

https://nypost.com/2019/04/04/body-...orage-facility-thought-to-be-missing-teacher/

"Police have found a woman’s body in a Staten Island storage facility that’s believed to be the missing teacher and mother of three who disappeared Saturday, The Post has learned."

"Police also determined Michael Cammarata, who lives in Queens, drove to Staten Island on Sunday night, a law enforcement source said."

So he took her body to SI on Sunday night, not Saturday night? What happened in the 24 hours in between?

"During questioning he told police they met and had sex — and that he hit her, sources said."
This gut has serious issues. It appears she was terrified of him. However, as per him, she had sex with him? Ugh!

She didn’t have sex with him-he said it because the authorities will be finding that she’d been sexually assaulted, and this idiot thinks they might think it was consensual sex, and not rape (which would be much worse for him when he goes to trial)

Husband charged with assault in search for missing mom of 3 from Staten Island

According to the video, ex-husband INVITED Jeanine to come over and see the kids that night.

From that article :

"That's the last anybody actually saw her," Cammarata's best friend Jessica Pobega said.

Authorities are looking into text messages received by Pobega from someone claiming to be Cammarata the day after she disappeared.

Jessica wrote in the texts that she was calling police.

"I don't want that," the reply read. "I have the kids...I apologize. I have to do this for the children."

Cammarata also did not show up for a custody hearing in court this week.

BBM - The wording on that is just so strange. Have to do what for the children ?

She probably didn't want to tell her friend she was actually going to this guys house. I'm sure she knew they would have a fit if they knew she planned to do that instead of meeting at the 120.
