NYPD K-9 dogs helped lead investigators to the charred remains of a woman in an Arden Heights storage facility early Thursday morning. Police armed with a search warrant arrived at Extra Space Storage at 7 Arden Ave. around midnight. Officers did not find any employees on duty.

A K-9 dog trained to detect cadavers sensed something, or “hit,” on a door leading to one of the units. After police opened the unit, they found a plastic storage bin covered with a lid. When officers opened the bin, they found a bag containing what appeared to be the charred remains of a woman.

Remains found in Staten Island storage unit are of a burned woman, source says

The facility would not confirm whom the unit belonged to, but a rep said the company was cooperating with police.

Investigators also descended on Michael’s Rockaways apartment Thursday.

"Police also recovered a van that Michael allegedly drove from his Queens home to Staten Island on Sunday night, roughly a day after Jeanine went missing, law enforcement sources said.

Cops interviewed Michael’s girlfriend Wednesday night and cracked open the storage unit Thursday morning — which sources say is no coincidence."

Sounds like gf is singing like a little songbird.
Probably in her best interest at this point. Smh. How tragic....MOO

Yeah she is already planning her plea deal. I would bet she was in on the whole thing. Helped carry the victim from the apartment, drove the victims car etc.

Where were the kids during all of this? Still at his house or in the van with their dead Mother?

Was from Video at the link. Just checked. Still there

Thanks! I was oblivious to the fact there was a video when I first clicked the link and only read the article - for a change it wasn't set up to auto play!

umm... Yeah. That is concerning

Pick up a police station means he either is a police officer or the transfers are supervised

He works for the postal service from what I understand

We don't know yet. NYPD just held a press conference and refused to answer this very question.. citing "an ongoing investigation." :(

'Charred' body may be missing Staten Island teacher: NYPD

"Cammarata's husband, Michael Cammarata, was taken into custody Wednesday and is being held on charges related to an assault that predates his wife's disappearance, police said. He was still in custody Thursday afternoon and police are working with the Staten Isand district attorney's office to file additional charges against him, Aubry said."

Additional charges. Gee, ya think? No word about charges against his little helper.

They would either be left home alone or rode with them in the van to transport her body.

I know it makes no sense trying to "understand" why people do evil things like this ... this man just made his life, the life of his children, and the life of anyone who loved Jeanine worse and for what? He thought giving up custody of his children was the worst thing? Thought I'll show her .. what a waste!! If this is Jeanine, may she be at peace now and her friends and family find strength to deal with this horrible situation
