Loved Ones Fear The Worst As Search For Missing SI Mother Turns Into Murder Investigation

*No wonder taking a while to ID her.

"Police found a “charred and unrecognizable” body inside a storage facility Thursday, and investigators are working to identify the remains."

*So someone did know where she was going.

"The 37-year-old mother of three and public school teacher was last seen on Saturday night after telling loved ones she was going to see her children at Michael Cammarata’s home in Queens. The couple was in the midst of an ugly divorce and custody battle.

“She came to me Friday telling me the good news that her husband was going to give her the kids and she was on her way to pick up the kids,” said Torres."

*Sounds like he tricked her into coming there.

*My thoughts.

Missing teacher’s car spotted driving to Staten Island, report says

"Jeanine Cammarata’s white 2017 Chevy Cruze, which police are searching for in hopes it will shed light into the teacher’s disappearance, was spotted driving to Staten Island on Sunday night, according to the New York Post.

A license-plate reader recorded Cammarata’s car entering the borough at 9:34 p.m. Sunday, sources told the Post.

A gray 2016 Chrysler Town & Country minivan allegedly owned by her estranged husband, Michael Cammarata, was spotted following the Chevy Cruze about 10 minutes behind it, the report said.

The minivan returned to Queens around 4:30 a.m. Monday, according to the report.

It was uncertain who was driving the vehicles."

I wish they would name the gf as a suspect too, so we could sleuth her as well.

Since Jeanine's car and Ex's van were both spotted driving to SI Sunday night, seems likely that she was driving the car while he was driving the van. Since not certain though, only fair to leave her out of it - for now. And if it was her, who knows how voluntary it was. JMO

I wonder if they are talking to the 7 year old. He's old enough to tell PD where he was all of Sunday night and who was with the kids, if anyone. Or did they take the kids along?

The 7 year old was her child from a previous relationship, so I read in one MSM article. Why would her ex, (the kid's stepfather) have custody of him/her? And was he able to keep him away from JC as well?

Not sure of boy or girl - will go look. You say son, so I assume you've read it too. JMO

No, the 3 and 7 year old are both with MC. The 11 y/o is with his bio father.

Thanks. I've read 2 different versions of that - one that ex had 2 of kids, other that he had all 3. Good old MSM mixed messages.

Remains found in Staten Island storage unit are of a burned woman, source says

"Her disappearance came less than two days after her estranged husband, Michael Cammarata, was served with divorce papers, according to a report by the New York Post. Jeanine was preparing for a Monday divorce-and-child-custody hearing over their 3-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter when she vanished, her lawyer Eric Gansberg told the Post. She also has another child from a previous relationship."

Burned body, believed to be missing Staten Island teacher, found in storage facility: sources

"Air fresheners were arranged around the remains in a failed bid to hide the stench of death.

Michael Cammarata, 42, remained in custody Thursday at the 120th Precinct stationhouse after confessing that he slugged his spouse Jeanine when they met Saturday night in Queens. That was all he said before asking for a lawyer and refusing to answer any more questions, police said.

Police investigators were steered to the storage facility by Cammarata’s girlfriend. Cops say Cammarata is the “prime suspect” in the weekend disappearance of his estranged, terrified and presumed dead wife."

Wonder when the air fresheners were purchased.

"A camera at the Staten Island location showed him, accompanied by a second person, unloading the container from his car, sources said.
So, it sounds like gf drove Jeanine's car to Staten Island, followed 10-minutes later by the ex-husband. She ditches Jeanine's car, ex picks her up at the ditched-car location, and then they go to the storage unit.

Was this a previously-rented unit? Did they use it for items or was it empty other than the bin with Jeanine's body?

I'm just starting to wonder if this was all planned in advance, rather than an altercation turned violent.

Hard to say. Given all the info so far, I suspect gf is in serious trouble; accessory at the least.

BBM. Good point. Could be. With the article I just posted upthread stating Jeanine told a friend her EX called her to come see the kids, that he would give her the kids, sounds like he at lured her to his residence for some reason. JMO
