The boyfriend of a pregnant real estate agent has been charged with her murder in New York City.

Anthony Hobson, 48, was charged with murder, tampering with physical evidence, abortion and criminal possession of a weapon in the Sunday slaying of Jennifer Irigoyen, 35, in Queens.

Hobson, accompanied by his attorney, surrendered himself at to 104 Precinct on Friday morning, the New York Post reported.

His arrest concluded a multi-day manhunt after Hobson became the focus of police interest in his girlfriend's brutal slaying over the weekend.

Hobson was initially charged with second-degree abortion since Irigoyen was pregnant when she was killed, but the Queen’s District Attorney’s office told the New York Post that it had to drop the charge because of the law signed by Cuomo.

Part of the law, known as the Reproductive Health Act, removes abortion from the state’s criminal code and changes the definition of homicide to no longer include the unborn...."

I suspected this might be a possibility. Thankfully this guy has plenty of other charges against him to put him away for a long time. If she had survived, but the baby had not, I guess he would still face aggravated assault charges for what he did to her. What a tragedy.

Ugh, of course, this vile 🤬🤬🤬 would make the family go through a trial. According to NY law, for second degree murder conviction, minimum is 15 yrs to life and max is 25 yrs to life. They have the guy on surveillance video. Does he really think he'd fare better at a trial?

"A Rego Park man was indicted today in Queens Criminal Court for murder and other charges for viciously stabbing his pregnant ex-girlfriend to death inside her Ridgewood apartment building last month.

Anthony Hobson, 48, will now face up to 25 years to life in prison for the brutal attack and murder of 35-year-old Jennifer Irigoyen.

“This is the absolute worst outcome of domestic violence,” said Chief Assistant District Attorney John M. Ryan in a statement. “The victim was stabbed repeatedly in her abdomen, neck and torso, subsequently killing her and the unborn child.”...

Hobson will return to Queens Criminal Court on May 22."
