JR's husband has changed his FB settings. He can be messaged now.

Maybe he wants some help.

I think that's a new "gift" from Facebook. They've changed the security settings so anyone can now message another FB user. Another pretty crap move by them.

Messages from non-friends go into the "other" folder.

I knew there was a reason I was annoyed with FB.
Thanks...
Maybe in this case, it'll be a blessing in disguise. Jennifer's name isn't out there enough.

O/T, please share
Missing Police Dog info? Thanks!

I hear you,..BUT Facebook is fantastic for getting the word out about MISSING PERSON'S.

For public info sharing, it's an excellent tool, and I believe that it helps Law Enforcement, enormously. So, there is actually excellent use for it when we're trying to reach out.

I didn't see this posted yet, from yesterday 12/21/2012:

http://www.evesun.com/news/stories/2012-12-21/16515/Search-for-missing-woman-continues/

"Jennifer L. Ramsaran, 36, 473 Sheff Rd., was last seen by her husband, Ganesh Remy Ramsaran, who told police his wife had planned a shopping trip to Destiny USA, Syracuse, on Dec. 11. The following day, Ramsaran’s cell phone was discovered on state Route 23 in the Town of Plymouth, near Moon Hill Road. On Dec. 16, her 2006 Chrysler Town and Country minivan was found at Plank Road Manor in the City of Norwich."

I can't see the whole article since I'm not a subscriber.

I am, however, reasonably local for this case. I am not familiar with the areas or the people involved, but I will keep an eye out for local news sources and keep you all posted whenever possible.

If she was last seen by her husband, yet there was a question as to her hair color, does this mean he left and she was still at home? And perhaps he saw an empty box of hair dye? Otherwise, I can't imagine why the hair color issue arose at all.

I just can't get a feel for this case at all; the searching near the home is always scary, as it makes it appear that LE has ominous info, but it could just be standard procedure that they need to get done.

Re: the haircolor issue - the way I understand it, initial news reports put up her photos and added that note because they'd been told she had a recent hair appointment just days before disappearing. However, I believe it was stated on the associated facebook page linked elsewhere in this thread already that she did nothing new to her hair at that appointment.

The entire subject of her hair is completely irrelevant, IMHO. The initial reporters probably could've saved a lot of hassle for us all here by explaining their statement better, then revising subsequent reports once family said that she didn't actually change anything at that recent appointment.

Our general area of upstate NY here - the Southern Tier and Central NY "officially" I guess - doesn't get a whole lot of cases like this. The ones we do see, tend to get little to no publicity. Go find Michele Anne Harris' case here on websleuths. See how convoluted and drawn out her story is. She went missing in 2001 and still hasn't been found, and her husband has been tried and convicted and then let back out two or three times now. Yet how much do you hear about it? Almost nothing.

Just how it is here. If you want info on cases around here, you have to dig for it yourselves. I know that's why you're all here though. :)

OT-I am from Binghamton (well, Vestal) and very familiar with Michele's case, in fact knew her husband's family well. I think they are going for a 3rd conviction now...I doubt she will ever be found. Poor woman.

Yep, I spent most of my life in Vestal. Still nearby now - small world! :seeya:

Has this one been posted yet? Includes a neighbor quote, not much - from 12/18 -
http://www.wbng.com/news/local/Police-Search-Around-Home-of-Missing-Woman-183965521.html

Then this one gives a tiny bit of new info (from 12/17) -
http://blog.timesunion.com/crime/au...r-missing-former-north-greenbush-woman/12903/

"In an email to the Times Union, a relative of Ramsaran’s said Ramsaran (whose maiden name is Renz) graduated from Columbia High School and is from North Greenbush."

And from 12/20 -
http://thedailystar.com/localnews/x983997640/Investigators-interview-missing-womans-children

"On Wednesday, state troopers and forest rangers continued to conduct a ground search of the 18 acres surrounding the couple’s home. Cutting said the search produced no new solid clues.

“We will be expanding the search from there,” Cutting said.

The sheriff also confirmed a report in The Daily Star on Wednesday that indicated Jennifer Ramsaran had a hobby of playing online games.

He said State Police computer experts are expected to reach out to her various online contacts — such as her Facebook friends — to determine if any of them can offer information explaining her disappearance.

The Chrysler Town & Country minivan Rasmaran was driving that day was found by police at the Plank Road Apartments in the city of Norwich. Her cellphone was located farther west alongside the north side of state Route 23 in Plymouth, near Moon Hill Road.

Cutting said Ramsaran likely would have taken state Route 23 if she was headed to the Syracuse mall from her home in state Route 23."

I am fairly "local" as well and I have not seen it out in the media much at all. I am about 2 hours away.

RE: the haircolor: Yes, it appears that a relative of Jennifer's on FB said that her hair was done about 2 weeks ago and that it was nothing special.
If this is true, why was it reported at all?
Could it be that this was mentioned in order to mislead LE?

Sorry, but it has no sense. If she had her hair done DAYS before dissapearing her husband has to know it and there is no reason for him to not provide LE with an actual description of Jennifer, even if she dyed her hair neon pink. What is more, Jennifer did nothing new to her hair, so there was no need to even mention her hair appointments. So there should be no haircolor issue at all. How comes there is an issue? And it's not just a mistake made by sloppy reporters, the information about Jennifer posibly dying her hair is available also on the Chenango County Sheriff official Facebook page. So who actually gave the LE all that confusing info?
