Earlier, the husband states "30+ Investigators" - I looked at the size of the Chenango County Sheriff LE Division. It is 23 Full time. Note: Nothing on the Sheriff's web site about Jennifer. Seems like alot of Investigators for our rural county w/ only 2 detectives.

The Law Enforcement Division is led by Lt. Richard Cobb. It consists of

twenty-four (23) full-time sworn Deputies which consist of:

1 - Patrol Lieutenant, 3 - Patrol Sergeants, 2 - Detectives,

15 - Road Patrol Deputies, 1 - Civil Deputy,

1 - K-9 German Shepherd Police Dog named “Elvis”.

I supposed he has 28 more investigators from outside the area helping. Is this the norm?

It would definitely be the norm if one of their own were missing. We would be seeing police officers from all over the state, if not the country, with sirens blasting, plus full fledged air, water, and land searches, and a high National Guard presence.

But when a civilian becomes missing, I've seen too many times where jurisdictional issues come into play.

Very well said.
As a lover of my community and surrounding communities, I KNOW without a doubt that had that search not been cancelled this weekend, probably at least 200 people would have shown up.

Schools were going to donate snow shoes if needed. Several people volunteered publicly to provide food and drinks. A local residential setting was going to donate the use of walkie-talkies. A fire department offered the use of their firehouse free of charge ~ kitchen facilities, tables/chairs, etc., which would have been perfect to come back to warm up before going back out again, as it's very close to one of the areas we were going to search. The person who organized the use of the firehouse is a community member. Older people who aren't able to enter wooded areas for health/mobility issues asked what they could do. And the above things were offered within just ONE day.

I would beg the family to reconsider their stance on a public search.

Jillian... Thank you for working so hard to help find Jennifer....

I am so impressed with your community's active involvement in trying to find one of their "peeps"....

The offers of snow-shoes, walkie-talkies, use of firehouse, food, etc... Is so encouraging to hear...

Bless you all!

If in fact, GR is innocent, I would think that all this effort would be soooo appreciated as wanted. I mean no disrespect. Of course I want jennifer to be alive and return to her children. I don't think LE has been bashed at all!!

The mere fact that I posted on the site ran by him and my comment was deleted is very telling.

I hope her mom is reading here... I feel so sad for her but also believe that she agrees with the majority of us here.

Man, if there is a search with ample time warning, I would love to fly up. Simply to be involved and meet the locals posting here who care.

Hugs to you all...

Friend: Please be advised that any search efforts conducted by civilians can hinder any open investigation and should be only conducted by Law Enforcement personnel. Kindly call off ANY future searches scheduled and inform the people on your page to stop making inflammatory accusations regarding the husband and his family. Standard LE protocol is to look at the spouse and family first as a deduction then broaden their investigation once they have been cleared. The husband and family have been cleared. The accusations and cruel comments passed is not only painful but can also land that person a very nice lawsuit based on slander so kindly advise all the people associated with this page to cease and desist any searches and slanderous comments. Thank you.

~snipped for space~

Credibility is lost when vague, blanket statements are made, such as "The husband and family have been cleared." Which "family" is this person speaking of? The kids? The parents? This is the one and only time I've ever heard anyone say that GR has been cleared by LE. Obviously, this is probably not a true statement, and by saying such a thing, the writer loses all credibility. The tone of everything said by this person is desperate and unsophisticated. And then they threaten to basically report you to the police if you don't do what they say. Very childish and unreasonable.

I would like a link to where LE has made the statement via official press release or quoted directly through a mainstream media outlet article that the
husband has been cleared. I have searched all of them- and have found no such statement. :waitasec:

I would feel totally safe in Fox's hands as the driver. And us women can pack all the food for the road :)

Has anyone ever seen ES, Jennifer's supposed best friend, post anywhere on either fb page?? (or anywhere at all?)

IF LE has any indication that she is alive, I could see why they would not want people out there searching in the middle of the winter and possibly have to go searching for searchers. But that is the only reason I can think of, that makes any sense.

I think LE has pretty clear rules about searches? Just regarding responsibility. Someone upthread said that LE can't necessarily condone third party searches, which I imagine is true. JMO and all that, since I clearly don't know what I'm talking about.

Regarding ~other people~ actively trying to dismiss searches, that's a whole 'nother can of worms. :waitasec:

This sounds more like LE telling people not to search; not just avoiding advising searches. I have never heard that before.
