Vans don't have stick shifts- automatic transmission. Lever on column behind steering wheel determines park, drive, reverse, neutral. Cover is back towards & under dash- not quite where a stick would be

The transmission is also called a 'gearbox' - the 'stick' is attached to the gearbox (transmission).

Im sorry, OT, but BBM is that true? I learned to drive a manual at 15 and all of my older kids know how (the youngest isn't old enough to drive yet). I live in the South, so maybe its just the area, but almost every adult I know knows how to drive a stick shift.

In younger drivers, only 1 out of 5 can capably drive a stick.

I think we were products of parents who made us learn....age and demographics come into play too.
