WTH??!!

I think he'll try to appeal and/or escape again. But when he reaches the end of the line, I think there's a very high risk GR will kill himself. He's that type of personality, in my opinion.

I totally agree. In my opinion, it won't be soon enough.

I've been thinking about that. I researched a little, and most of the experts (in my quick search) said narcissists are rarely prone to suicide. But, prison is a different story.
If he's in solitary, he won't be able to "hold court." I think it may be difficult for him to cope with not being the center of attention. If he has to be in solitary for any long period of time, he may commit suicide.
If in the gen pop, he may be liked as an affable goof-ball and get along ok and be affirmed enough by inmates with low self esteem (and he knows how to groom and manipulate this group well, along with fellow-narcissists, who apparently are well represented in prison), or he may be disliked for being arrogant and mouthy, and be a target. Maybe both at the same time. I see him as being a schemer and manipulator of fellow inmates and guards -- he'll always have something up his sleeve.
Not quite sure what he'll do about his apparent sex addiction, unless he's willing to play on the other team.

He, will, of course, consider himself the victim. And rage against the system for putting him into prison unjustly -- after all, he's above the law.

I was thinking in terms of 'control killers', who often keep victims close and are unwilliing to let them go, even when dead. Although practical necessity meant Jennifer's body could not be kept in the home, GR did not take her far and never really 'relinquished' her. He took control of finding her body, her funeral, 'presenting' a pic of her to the world, and disposing of her things.

Those who live in such little bubbles of deadly domesticity and sexual promiscuity often have 'one person' whose betrayal or withdrawal of support is the cue for suicide. The Fred West case in England is a classic example. http://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/hi/dates/stories/january/1/newsid_2460000/2460563.stm

ETA: Meant to say took control of finding her phone, not her body, above. Although I also believe he did want her body found, eventually. He just couldn't figure a way he could 'stumble' across it himself, without arousing suspicion.

Seriously, just where did Remy think he was going? And how was he getting there, in the facility's laundry truck? I believe it will be an interesting, creative little escape plot, and I hope we get the details. The wheels in his head just keep on turning.

Talk about a bad Lifetime movie...Obviously, he could not care less about Jen's family, but what about his own parents? He simply does not give a whit about anyone except himself.

Bad Lifetime movie indeed....Can you imagine how things would have gone if the CO would have taken him up on the bribe? No doubt they'd both be caught, but the curious side of me wonders how the plan would have panned out, and how long GR would have been able to hide--he just doesn't strike me as a "behind the scenes" kinda guy. Reminds me of my Jack Russell Terrier...always wanting to be the center of attention. :)

I attended the trial. I am disabled & had to use the elevator.

Many times, I had to go on there with his mother. That poor, suffering woman. He did not give a **** for her. His father seemed, to me, to keep a very close leash on her. I never saw any remorse or looks to his mother during the trial & some of the testimony was harrowing.

One thing, during some of the phone calls between Remy & the <mod snip>, he was saying to her how much his parents loved her and were so happy that she was calling them. His mother turned to the woman (my friend), sitting next to her and adamantly denied that Eileen was calling her. She was reduced to a blubbering mess, crying & insisting she always adored Jenn & always considered her the daughter she wasn't able to birth.

Another thing, she appeared to not have a good command of the English languade so it was hard to understand alot of what she had to say, especially when she was weeping.

His plan would almost have had to involve someone on the outside -- he'd need a change of clothes, transportation, maybe a false ID, money. Unless the $100K bribe included the guard helping him with all that. I think he may have been headed to Canada. It's a straight shot up I-81, less than 3 hours to the border. He could have been planning to cross w/ a fake ID, or he could have headed for the American side of the Thousand Islands area, and then had a Canadian family member (he has several in the Maritime provinces) smuggle him over the St. Lawrence by boat. That area is sparsely populated at this time of the year. Or he could hang out on the American side for a couple months in someone's vacation cabin, and wait for the river to freeze over, and sneak into Canada that way. Or he could have headed to NYC and just gotten lost in the crowd with his new "look" -- not to his parents, of course, that would the obvious place to search, but spending his teen years in Yonkers, he'd know his way around that area.

I've thought a lot of his mother. Thanks for sharing this. Interesting that her love for Jen compelled her to turn to a stranger and blurt out that her own son was lying (or was ES lying to him??).

Well, it was the calls between the mistress & Remy & he was saying to his mistress how his Dad had told him she was calling them & that they adored her & love, love, love her. She was going along in the convo, so she must have been talking to someone.

I thought alot about this exchange & what his Mother had to say about it.

I know that the father is supposed to be quite wealthy & since Remy had lost the ability to provide her with Jenn's life, which was covetted by the mistress..... well, I don't know if I'm allowed to say what I concluded about this. While this is supposed to be a sluething group, it seems we aren't supposed to talk about the bad acts & bad intentions of one of the main players in this tragedy.

BBM...

You can discuss anything that is known thru the media, from law enforcement, from the courts, interviews etc. from anyone involved in this case. Remy murdered Jen, he's the only one arrested for it and convicted of it. Now if you are asking about ES, you can discuss her interviews, her testimony etc. You can not discuss her being involved in any way for Jen's murder. She is not and has never been named a suspect, so she is not to be discussed that way. If you want to discuss her bad acts as far as the affair she had with her best friends husband that's fine. Bad intentions, No. We are not going to speculate about her intentions. Hope this helps and if you do have any other questions you can pm me. That way we are not tying up the thread with moderation questions.

Thank you

BBM - In the Dateline show - Det Cobb did say she was a suspect for some time but was eventually cleared.

Yes, he did. And I don’t think that he even actually stated that she was cleared. I think there is just a presumption that she was not involved because she was not arrested (well, not for murder anyway).

Transcript (at 5:15 in the third part of the video)

Reporter: And Eileen, she was now under investigation too. Why was Eileen a possible suspect?

Cobb: Just because of her relationship, because of her involvement with both Jennifer and Mr Ramsaran. Generally you might think that a husband or a male might commit murder, but women can also.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Perhaps Mother wasn't aware of the phone calls.

I have personal experience of a killer who used his family like this. I feel pity for GR's mother. But. It sounds as though she may have had information that may have been useful to prosecution, but she was never called? My pity is tempered a little by what I feel may have happened here.

I doubt that GR's mother had knowledge pertaining to GR's guilt. And somebody told investigators about how the elder Ramsarans rushed over to Chenango county the day after Jen went missing, and were rudely told by their son to go home, he didn't want them there. That came out in trial, didn't it? But who testified to that?
As far as to whether ES was calling both of them, and was adored by both of them, or only was calling one and/or only adored by one isn't really pertinent to GR's guilt. And it does sound like mother heard about ES's phone calls the first time when the jail house phone tapes were being played in court. I feel sad for Mrs. Ramsaran. She lost a daughter-in-law with delightful qualities (the DIL most any mother would want), and she probably really did love and cherish Jen, and probably was less than thrilled with the licentious locum her churlish son tried to foist on her. She must have wondered, with dread, what sort of pyrrhic victory GR had smugly thought he'd won.

Is the sentencing trial still December 1st?

Unless someone else has heard further this is the last I recall reading....

October 30, 2014

The sentencing of Ganesh “Remy” Ramsaran, convicted of killing his wife, Jennifer, in December 2012 in the couple’s South New Berlin home, has been postponed from Friday to Dec. 1, Chenango County District Attorney Joseph McBride said Wednesday.

I came here to see if the sentencing was still on for the 1st. I followed this case, but only posted a few times since I was always playing catchup. I have so much respect for the J4J group and the people here at Websleuths who cared about Jennifer and stood up for her while the murderer and his girlfriend were doing their best to slime her in every way imaginable. I can't believe those two had the gall to go on Dateline and look that bad, even if that wasn't the half of it.
