Sheriff Discourages Private Searches for Missing Woman
By Matt Porter

New Berlin, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Chenango County Sheriff is discouraging people from conducting their own searches for Jennifer Ramsaran.
The Sheriff's Office said private searches could destroy important evidence related to the case.

I just want to get something clear, as I wasn't here when the thread was closed and have only managed to be in and out today- I've been reading the msm links and on the facebook pages, and have a few questions:

- the body has been identified as Jennifer and her mom, dad, GR, family have been informed of this? (I've seen this stated and am not doubting it in the slightest, just to be clear)

- do we know how the body was identified?

- did GR give this interview after he was informed?

- From what I understand they are working on an ID now. I figure this must be because the body was in a bit of a state so couldnt be recognised and was without any identifying items? Like jewellery/clothing?

And a statement- I also wonder if the delay in confirming identity and a statement from LE is legal in nature.

I watched it on the 5 o'clock news ... I wonder if they will post the video after the 6 o'clock news. Too bad the oscars already happened.

Too bad the Razzies already happened.

“I can only speak for Remy from his side of it, [but] he’s extremely upset and confused,” added Caron. “He keeps saying he doesn’t understand why Jennifer would have been there [and] that was not the route she would have taken.”

As for the continued social media bombardment, Caron said she understands the general public wanting to project their opinion, but said harassment and stalking will not be tolerated.

“I just don’t have any words for that,” she added. “This is just unbelievable ... I’ve never seen anything like this."

to quote someone: ".....I'll leave it at that."

Guess that was some nosebleed, eh, Ms. Caron? :furious:

Headline: Husband reacts to possibility of missing wife's death

Should it not be: Husband ACTS...????

And like someone else noted -- GR's surprised to find JR on that road as it's not along the path she would have taken 'to the mall'. Of course not -- b/c the mall path was searched -- JR was hidden off the beaten path.

But to someone's theory -- one of those darned armchair detectives or sleuthers <smile>, if it was GR who did this -- he could not have moved her far due to his small stature.

wow and now he gives an interview??? After doing maybe 2 the whole time Jennifer was missing? Now he does one late at night during what should be a stressful and personal time??

If he did or not.... I do not believe him when he talks. God, my stomach is turning just at the sight and sound of this interview.

Cannot believe he is even talking to the media. Makes no sense to have a sit down interview.

:bricks:

ETA: These interviews remind me soooo much of Drew Peterson, Laci's husband. At least he was easy on the eyes, if you know what I mean.

:( I've been reading and hoping for a happier outcome for Jennifer since Christmas. My heart is broken for her family.

Jillian and others, thank you for the determination and strength you showed in the search for Jennifer, especially in the face of such animosity from other sources.

I'm sure Jennifer knows how much she has touched everyone here and that comforts me a little.

RIP Jennifer.

While I don't really care what goes on on the FB pages, I do hope that interesting comments are being screenshotted before deletion, just in case.

Something just struck me. Maybe kind of morbid, so please forgive me. Here goes. If I was in the position that GR was in, and the police came to my house and said that they found a body and that it might be my missing wife, I would INSIST on going to the crime scene and trying to make a visual ID. I know that she's been missing for an extended period of time, probably in a wooded area (read, with wildlife), but I still would want to go to/ be on the scene. I don't know that he didn't respond to the scene, but my guess is he wasn't invited. JMHO of course.

Piperdog, LE would never let you. Can you imagine what a defence attorney would make of that;

"You found fibres from my client's jacket on the body and ground? Of course you did. They went there for identification, what would you expect?"

I was thinking that along with a "I'd better look out this window while I can, won't be seeing the outdoors for long...." Honestly if he was a truly nervous husband awaiting possible terrible news-he would be with his children, trying to assure them all is going to be alright & no media outlets would be in his home at such a time.

Possibly getting pix by media taken before he dons other garb?...

Maybe he doen't feel he looks good in stripes?....

Just wondering...

"Not knowing is the toughest. Her mom and dad have been searching endlessly along with everybody else, but it's tough," said family friend David Drew.

Now, they are waiting to find out if a body discovered in Chenango County belongs to Jennifer.

"I can't wrap my head around it. That's not remotely where I have been these last two months or so," said Jennifer's husband Ganesh Remy Ramsaran
.

FINALLY someone in the media mentions Jennifer's PARENTS! But isn't GRs statement odd? Is it just me, or does this man have an uncanny ability for the most awkward statements ever at the most inappropriate times?

Jen's sister has posted reflecting the loss, I'm going to believe her over someone who hadn't even met the family until a week ago. My heart aches so much for her parents and her sister, with all the things they've been subjected to. When I read about her father searching I just cried, and when I came in this afternoon and Jen had been found... well if I'm honest I felt flat out numb for awhile but now I'm tearful.
