An FDNY paramedic missing from his Queens home was the focus of an increasingly frantic search on Sunday as his wife described his disappearance as out of character for the devoted husband and respected first responder.

Jesan-Michael Avile-Hyde, 39, who works out of EMS Station 31 in Brooklyn, walked out of his home on 137th St. in Flushing at 2:30 p.m. Friday, wearing his uniform’s blue cargo pants, a grey hoodie and black boots, according to his union, Local 2057.

This might be a very stupid question, but here goes- he went to check on his car, according to the article. Is the car missing? I didn't see anything to indicate either way.

Sorry, but my hinky meter is flying high right now. I can't put my finger on it as to why, but something ain't right here.

Prayers Jesan-Michael is found safe soon.

That's a good question. He didn't take his cell phone or work bag with him. What was his shift schedule like? Was he off on July 5? Why would he decide to check on his car?

We d0n't know if he was coming back from work or going to work and didn't show up.

He went to check on his car? Um, for what?

And just what was with the wife going on and on about their arguments, insisting she always came back, blah blah blah?

I'm still baffled about the car. It hasn't been said if his car is also gone. Why isn't that bit of information told to us?

It said in the article that he left his phone and work bag at home. So, I take it to mean that he has his keys and wallet? The emphasis on him leaving his phone and work bag at home, and he was dressed for his job- I take it he was going to work? Yet for some reason, he went to check on his car first? For what?

Has he used his ATM recently?

I wonder if any cameras in his neighborhood have him going to his car.

Self harm or voluntary missing?
Nevertheless praying he turns up safe.

I am wondering myself, but we don't know if he has his car or not. We don't know if he's used his ATM recently, or if he took out extra cash before leaving. He was also dressed for work- not sure if he was coming back from work, or going to work.

Something about him checking his car is bothering me here. Along with the non-stop references from the wife about arguments in the past. I won't say she said or did anything to cause this, but it was so strange to see her give so many details over arguments and what they did or how they handled them in the past. I wonder if they had a fight before he went out the door?

Who wears a grey hoodie on a July afternoon in New York?

So, he goes out to check his car at 2:30 p.m. on Friday (July 5), without his phone or work bag, and doesn't get reported missing until Sunday? Why wait? He's a first responder. I don't think that LE would impose a waiting period before allowing a report to be filed on him, especially under the strange circumstances and who he is.

The wife’s family is in Nepal. Being English is not her primary language, much could be lost in translation during the interview. I’m hoping LE is searching his social media accounts and financial records. Hopefully he just needed a “cooling off” period.

Maybe he and his wife had an argument and she was hoping that he would cool off and come back? For some reason she mentions arguments in the article. MOO.

So much talk-talk-talk -talk from wife. Maybe he needed a good long break. At least I hope that's all it is.

Well this is certainly odd. Ordinarily we read articles about the missing person and wish we had more info; in this case, it seems we have a ton of details from the wife that we don't need.

I wish we had the details we actually needed such as:

-Was he supposed to work that day/night....is that why the bag being left at home was mentioned? (I'm assuming the bag is a work bag but that wasn't specified either)

-Is the car still there?

-Was there an argument? What had he/they done earlier that day? Typical Friday for the both of them?
