Calanni’s disappearance and his identification as a drifter known as “LuckySon” was mentioned in the Levy County Journal in Jan’ 2016.

It turns out Calanni actually went missing in 2013 from Forestville, NY. He was spotted in Venice Florida shortly after his disappearance. After that sighting he was not heard from again until Jan 2016, where his disturbance and subsequent apprehension in Williston Florida made local news.

You mean to tell me that in the span of 3 whole years, he went from New York to Florida? With little to no resources, and severe schizophrenia? And never once attempted to reach out for help/assistance/ or attempt to contact family members?

This man truly could be anywhere.

The article reads like there is a portion of it missing or cut off but I can’t see where that might be.

I have so many questions…

Did they ever find his mom’s car? He was under the purview of Williston Police Department, so what happened next? He was clearly unwell and according to the newspaper article PD was planning on getting him a mental health evaluation, so how exactly did they lose him?

And because he was in Williston Police custody, should this not be a case for them? In my amateur opinion, they’ve got some explaining to do.

** Oh and NamUs needs to correct Venice CA to Venice FL.

Sidenote; I learned a shirt tail relative refers to a very distant relative or a relative not necessarily connected by blood. Also can refer to a longtime family friend whom is considered family.
