Police search for missing Spencerport teen

According to police, 18-year-old Josh Redfield was last seen on Wednesday, Dec. 7.
He has brown hair, brown eyes, and is 5’ 6” and weighs around 150 pounds.

There is not a lot of info out there about this young man but I see his families and friends heartbreaking pleas on Facebook to help find him and I wanted to make sure he had a thread here.

I am a little baffled by this case. I live locally and reached out to the family offering to help. They did get back to me originally...but I have not heard anything since. I offered to help with any searches and putting up fliers. I also sent them a link to this thread, which they appreciated!! I was hoping that since they didn't follow up with me after that it meant they were onto something and didn't need assistance.
Now this, that the FBI is aiding in the search.

Now I'm not sure what to think. Hmm. Still hoping that I can help in some way.

ETA: The elements have been a concern since he went missing...lots of snow and very cold. I hope he is somewhere safe!

Ogden Police Chief Christopher Mears said there is a "strong possibility" the body could be that of Joshua Redfield, an 18-year-old Spencerport High School graduate who has been missing since Dec. 8. But, Mears said, it could take days before the body is officially identified.
