That article is so scary. It could definitely be a consideration for why the couple is missing.

What we are speculating is more or less consistent with what police was saying from the start, that they might be abducted or left for political reasons.

I just wonder what evidence have been uncovered so far, it has been a while.

This is sure a weird one. First thing I thought of was The Americans, as well.

I love the Americans, but the whole show was premised on the idea that they seemed like regular native-born Americans, which isn’t the case here.

That said, just buying real estate doesn’t lead to mysterious disappearances. Money laundering? Or, as @Via Marple ’s article suggests, state-sponsored kidnapping of political dissidents.
