Hmmm,I decided to download Google earth. It is very interesting in what can be seen on it as oppose to Google Maps satellite view.

Here's a clearly visible entrance into Spring Park from the Bike path on the Belt Parkway. If you look all the way to the lefy, I believe this is a homeless encampment.

This image is a little blurry, but he could have walked along side the rocks under the Belt Pkwy and entered the north side of Spring Creek. He would have to be very careful as there is a lot of water on that side.

Yes, this is exactly where I think the perp would've run to if they wanted to stay hidden and get out quickly. Now this is if he was on foot, but also if he went this way I would then be inclined to say he's from the immediate area.

My response as well. Googled Zodiac Killer. Looked like he focused on killing men in late 1960's and 1970's. over 46 years, would make the killer an elderly man, if he's even alive still. IMO, not related at all.

Seems like this Zodiac Killer is either dead or too old to over power Katrina or Vanessa. Sorry, I simply do not see any connection at all. The killer of Karina left his DNA there, the zodiac killer has never raped anyone. If he wanted to kill her he would of shot her or stabbed her. Less trace of DNA. Again- sorry, don't see any connection.

Agreed [emoji16] I tried to comment back on your pic of the area you had provided a pic of with google earth but thread was closed. Do you think the perp would've came or went from that location. I was under the impression LE was able to obtain video surveillance and they said no one was seen coming or going from the park entrances. I would consider that spot an "entrance" but could be wrong. I'll see if I can find the link that stated that.

The other spot by crossbay imo would be far from the spot of attack.

ALSO From what I gathered there is no fence between that bike path and spring creek, correct? Perp could've easily hid a bike in the woods there and then just hopped right on the bike trail, headed towards the mall or the other way BUT this would put them in the path of other people and if someone has injuries from Karina fighting back someone would've seen that. Busy time in that area once off the bike path, no?

Sorry I was rambling on, my thoughts might not be clear lol

Correct, there are no fences by the bike path. It's very weeded and such.

I don't believe there are cameras on the bike path but I think once crossed over the overpass of the Belt Pkwy there are cameras by the Mall (not sure where though). Although earlier on someone had posted a traffic camera for the Erskin exit (mall area) that shows th e Belt pkwy. Thinking out loud, I wonder if LE went back and watched this if it is recorded, to see if anything suspicious could be seen.

The only place where the perp could be seen is if he exited out of the park onto any part of 78th Street, where houses are. I think many there have cameras.

Edit: forgot to add, yes around that time the Mall area is busy. Many people coming home from work, going shopping. There's a BJs, home depot there, as well as many restaurants.

This is a tricky case in that IMO we have the obvious scenario of a vagrant/homeless or simply someone in the weeds who happens upon her... then there's the scenario of someone how knows she regularly jogs and plans an attack - could be someone from work or who noticed her at work.
Now if it's true that a rock was used, then it does sounds attacker did not prepare for the attack, unless he knew a rock could be easily found at the scene.....

I read yesterday on Instagram, Karina's best friend commented on a mutal friends post that the award is still at $100,000 and the rest will go towards events, runs, and foundations. I'm not sure if this has changed. Because I do recall her Dad stating the reward is at $200,000 now.

The scenario of a transient/homeless perp makes a lot of sense to me in terms of the MO. She was apparently killed by a rock, and it may have been a crime of random opportunity. But if so, it makes no sense that there is no DNA match popping up in the system. Vagrants/transients usually have been arrested a time or two and are in the system, in my experience. So I find that odd and it makes me rethink that part.
