Family, friends gather to remember Kelley Gaffield, 30 years after her unsolved murder

Kelley Gaffield was last seen alive on August 8, 1995. Saturday, her friends and family gathered to keep her memory alive.

'WEBSTER, N.Y. — Kelley Gaffield was last seen alive on August 8, 1995. Saturday, her friends and family gathered to keep her memory alive.'

'Christine Reilly, Kelley’s mother, spoke to News10NBC on Saturday saying she hopes someday she’ll get some answers.
“She actually, on August 8, came to my car and she told me, ‘Hey, can I go to meet up with my friends in the village?’ I said, ‘Yes,’ ‘cuz she usually did that,” recalled Reilly. “And, she gave me a hug, a kiss, and said, ‘I love you.’ That was my last of her.'

'Her body was found two months later in the woods by a hunter.
Her cause of death hasn’t been identified.'

Suspicious Death

Kelley Gaffield, at age 16, was last seen August 8, 1995, at 6:00 pm in the Phillips Road area in the Village of Webster. Kelly's body was discovered October 22, 1995, in a wooded area in Webster. The cause of her death is undetermined.

''Despite moments where her case has gone cold, Gaffield’s family has remained persistent in finding the answer of what happened to her.

Gaffield’s mother Chris Reilly shared the memories she has of her daughter. She says she was soft-spoken and had a sense of humor unlike anyone else.'

' Reilly says many of Gaffield’s friends sought legal counsel before her body was discovered.
“I don’t understand why,” Reilly said. “If [Gaffield’s friends] don’t have anything to hide, why would they get lawyers?”

“We had some of her belongings sent for more DNA testing, so we’re hoping that it has a good outcome and that maybe somebody else’s DNA is on there other than just hers,” Hogan said.
