Van Alstyne is a fairly common name in that part of New York/western MA. I think there are references to at least two different people (different ages) going on here.

The RSO's crime was over 9 years ago. The victim was 13. It wasn't the suspect as the victim would be 22 now.

Also, people with eating disorders very, very rarely hurt anyone other than themselves. I'd bet drugs over an eating disorder for her appearance.

I kinda sorta think TV was the victim in that crime.

The crime was in Sept of 2005 against a 13 year old. That was 9 years and 2 months ago. TV is 9. The victim of that crime would be 22 or 23. The math doesn't work.

Ok now we're getting somewhere. Obviously the 18 yr old does not have' custody' of the young children. That article ^^^ says Brenda and KEN have custody of the kids. So Ken has custody but does not live in the home? Why would any state give custody to RSO? Something somewhere is not adding up .

Well I'm gonna stick my head out here and say if you check the facebook accounts of the fam (The 'VA's) The male who I think could be the 18yr old is CVA. So who is 'Ken'? Is he a brother to Brenda, husband, any relation at all? Is he the same KVA as the RSO? Rather an uncommon name but there do seem to be a lot in the Albany area.

I just watched the presser.
The sheriff seems to be a stand up guy. Good to see that LE is on top of things. I do believe they stated that they "have no idea who the other adult is, who has custody of the children- other than Brenda"... And that the 18 year old boy (who they did not feel necessary to name) was a boy that Brenda had taken in & he was/is staying in the home. It was asked if he was a boyfriend (to Brenda or Tiffany - I'm not sure?), but they answered "no".

These poor children. The sheriff seemed very concerned about these kids & very hesitant to say much about their condition.
He did say that they are in CPS custody - praying that they can be placed in a loving family - SOON & together- especially for the holidays. They need each other, a lot of love, kindness, patience & so much caring right now. I want to just open my arms, home & heart to them & promise them everything they so deserve!!!

Exactly right. NOTHING is adding up. I'm listening again to see exactly what they said about Ken V and not knowing his whereabouts. This case is horrific.

I would hate to think I jumped the gun and posted the ' wrong guy's ' page. But let's face it, its' never a bad thing to show an RSO's page just in case. The press are mentioning a Ken having custody . The sheriff is saying he has no idea who else has custody except Brenda. The press are asking the sheriff if a **VA is the one with rape charge . So why would the press pull a name out of a hat? They must have something to indicate that KVAtheRSO is involved with the family in this case, right? Not to mention fb pages matching up . Curious also that they say they will ' not release motive to the public'...... why not release it at later time? Or never?

ETA Could very well be that Ken does not list that address as his home address because conditions of his RSO don't allow it. **speculative**

I'm not sure what you mean. I was trying to say that the date that the registered sex offender with the same last name as the suspect (TVA) committed his crime was in Sept of 2005. TV is 19 years old. The RSO's victim was 13, over 9 years ago, so the victim would either be 22 or 23, so it wouldn't be the 19 year old woman who was just arrested. I hope that clears this up.

I'm going to use the initials TVA for the suspect from now on instead of TV so it doesn't seem like I'm writing about a television.

Well, in reading the FB posts, I have to say that the mom seems like a nice lady who fiercely loves her kids. Sounds like she has had a lot to deal with in terms of her ex, perhaps, and serious health issues, that seem to be related to her heart. Sadly there is a really nice thankful post from her where she thanks her sister (BVI) for being her rock and being there for her - obviously feeling that her sister helped her in taking care of the children, etc... It doesn't sound to me that she would have any inkling that the children were in danger in any way. She also includes TVI in one of those thank you posts as well, so it sounds to me that she trusted these people. I can't imagine the things going through her mind now and what this is doing to the family. My heart goes out to her. I cannot imagine her pain, and being judged during it all has to be especially harsh.

So, correct me if I'm wrong but earlier in this thread someone mentioned reading somewhere that the children were living with the aunt because of molestation charges (or allegations?) against the dad.

So now I'm learning there is also a sexual assault history with the... husband? Brother? of the aunt as well? Who is this older Ken and how exactly does he fit into the picture? Earlier also in the thread LE was quoted as saying another ADULT male in the house with the same last name but not married - but - indicating he was the partner at least, of the aunt. Definitely not an 18 yr old kid.

So who in the heck actually lived in that house and what does this Ken V have to do with anything if he's not even living there? OR... is he?
