It's as if no time has gone by for Lorraine and Larry Stackhouse Sr.

It's as if it was just yesterday their son, 19-year-old Larry Stackhouse Jr., left to watch a basketball game on a Friday night. His dad remembers talking to his son right before he left, telling him not to stay out too late and that he would see him when he got home.

Instead, the Stackhouses haven't seen their son since that Friday, Dec. 2, 2005 when he left to watch a basketball game at Christian Brothers Academy. Instead, they have had 10 years filled with rumors, tips, pain and sadness, just waiting and hoping.

Said a prayer for you today while driving 81, Larry. Your parents seem like nice people, and I can't imagine what it's been like for them all these years. Wherever you are, I hope there is peace.

15 years since Larry Stackhouse, Jr. went missing | WSYR

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A billboard has gone up on South Salina Street in Syracuse and it is meant to catch more than your attention.

It has been 15 years too long for the parents of Larry Darnell Stackhouse Jr. and they have refused to waver in their quest to find out what happened to him.

For Larry and Lorraine Stackhouse, it seems like it was just yesterday when their 19-year-old son was headed out to watch a basketball game at Christian Brothers Academy. On Dec. 2, 2005, Larry told his son, “Don’t stay out too late and see you when you get home.”

Larry continued: “It’s been a tough road. We will resolve this case, at whatever cost. We will end this case one day soon.”

They have spent the past 15 years looking for their son in many ways: Through billboards, interviews, and a national TV show.

They are still working closely with Syracuse Police and have hired a private detective. And all the while, they have been dealing with pain, sadness, rumors, and frustration.

They have had many leads suggesting that something happened to Larry Stackhouse, Jr. on the Onondaga Nation.

“There are leads that’s coming in and it’s directed to the same individuals whose involved in the case since the get-go,” Larry said. “For those who are involved in my son’s disappearance, I want them to look at their kids and ask themselves if it happened to them, how would they feel?”

The billboard posted on 4018 South Salina Street on the Little Caesars Pizza side is there “in hopes of sending a stronger message.”

Anyone who is ready to come forward with information can contact Syracuse Police at 315-442-5222.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I was under the impression that FBI get involved if there is any indication of a crime that also occurs on indigenous land. Am I wrong in thinking that? I was pretty sure that one one of the many examples. Another being if a crime crosses state lines.

I am unable to access older links. Where does it say he was involved in criminal activity? Or that there were warrants out for his arrest? He had no criminal record, only traffic tickets.

It’s sad to see how accusatory the initial posts were. They only further reinforce missing white woman syndrome.

Justice for Larry. 🕊️
Besides the ongoing pain of trying to find their son, the Stackhouses were also hurt by the rumors that suggested their son was involved in criminal activity. The Stackhouses only knew of their son receiving tickets for driving with loud music and for not wearing a seatbelt.

"He never had a record. Anybody can look that up. He never had a felony. He was never a person that was in jail, in trouble all the time," Lorraine Stackhouse said.

His friends need to talk. They know more than they are saying.
