Laura Gossmann, 23, was murdered three days before Christmas in 1991. She just graduated from college and was working as a receptionist at a publishing house in Manhattan. She lived in a downstairs apartment in a 2-family house in the safe neighborhood of Woodside, Queens, with her parents living upstairs. She was found strangled, without identification or a wallet, but was not sexually assaulted. Police to this day do not know what happened.
