From Leiby's Funeral:

Father thanking hashem for the merit of having Leiby for almost nine years. Thousands of tears...

From Leiby's Teacher: Leiby you are not lost anymore, you are resting in heaven. We are the ones who are lost now.

Are there pictures of his family?

I don't post much I'm more of a lurker than a poster here but I just felt I needed to put down in writing my feelings for this poor sweet child.

Leiby, I am so very sorry for what has happened to you. To watch you on the surveillance footage know what the outcome will be is absolutely heart wrenching. I wish I was there and could have helped you before that monster set upon you. My thoughts and prayers are with you and with your family ~ I hope that you and your family are able to find peace in this tragedy.

My heart breaks for you little man...please rest knowing that you meant something to so many people and that you were loved dearly.

I just can't fathom why there is such evil in this world ~ each time I encounter a story like this I feel like it can't get any worse. Then another Leiby, Caylee, Kyron, Haleigh, Jonathon Foster...and so many others come along having had their sweet innocent lives cut short...and again tragically I am proven wrong. It sickens, saddens and infuriates me.

I have followed many cases here through the last couple years and they all hurt, especially the children. There are so many that unfortunately I forget all of the names. However, this little guy has really touched me and I will always remember him. His killer represents what is evil in the world and the support of his family represents what's right in this world. Two ends of the spectrum. I will never understand why these things happen.

A prayer for the Kletzky family - O Lord God, our heavenly Father, we bring our tears and sad hearts to you for Leiby and his family. May you be with this dear family and shelter and comfort with the tender love that only you can give. Surround them with the love and protection of their family and community. Please comfort all our hearts, Lord, and help us to direct our thoughts in prayer to you. You are our eternal source of justice, wisdom and grace. Fill our hearts with Your purity and light, so that our paths on earth are straight. Amen.

I so agree. Can you imagine finding LA standing in the living room and they ask where Leiby is then LA points to the kitchen. Wouldn't you think for a brief second oh good he's still alive then to see what he was referring to. Those poor LE.

I say again what I said at 6am this morning. It's my opinion that LE did a great job.

I have been thinking about Leiby all day. I feel so much for LE. I imagine with their job, looking for a missing child must be one of the hardest hits. I bet they fall in love with the child through their work. I bet it is devastating to them when they find the child has been killed. :(

I don't buy any of it other than the facts LE has confirmed.

I suspect that whoever else that lives in that house was at the wedding and that is when he took Leiby up to his apartment. I do not think Leiby was alive too much longer after that.

I haven't read this thread. I'm sick with this because I live about 5 minutes away from where this happened.

I have taught in this neighborhood many times, as recently as two weeks ago. I let my son play on the street with a group of other children.

However one thing that makes me really mad is that the kids roam unattended all over the area. I'm not talking older kids either, I'm talking little kids like 3-5 years old.

Since it is a religious community I guess they feel "safe" but at the same time anyone can go through it. Not only is it dangerous for reasons of being abducted, there is traffic everywhere. It is a very congested area and the cars speed. Whenever I go to Boro Park I get mad at the entire community at the reckless way children are just left all over the place.

As soon as I heard about the boy missing I knew it was in Boro Park. I really hope this will encourage the neighborhood to be more careful.

Well, if there is any good to come from this, maybe it is that the families will take heed and be a bit more cautious with the little ones.

ETA: I am not in any way putting any fault on the families. I don't think my post sounds that way but I wanted to add this disclaimer.

Even more so this time because they were on the trail quickly, they were so close! How many hours had gone by before he was found? I know it wasn't even 24 hrs. Bless those LE and all others involved in the search. May God give them and the family peace.

Am I the only person who thinks this guy reminds them of Jeffrey Dalhmer? It also goes back to something CN2 said earlier. I know what you meant CN2 but I can't type it, I just can't.

I cannot imagine the devastation his parents are feeling. My heart goes out to them.

LA may have been prowling on dating sites to find mothers with kids.

Of course. It's not just the parents, the entire community acts this way so it's cultural or something but it UNBELIEVABLE to me that there have not been more incidents or accidents.

When the mothers cross the streets, they will usually have a bunch of kids with them and the little ones tag behind even though traffic is everywhere.

It was simply a matter of time before something like this happened. I feel so bad for the family. He was such a sweet child.

The idea of a Monday wedding is unusal to me. It has been reported that LA lived in the second floor or attic apartment in a building owned by his father. Maybe LA's dad was at the wedding for a few days including Monday leaving LA with the place to himself and that is how the wedding ties in.

It was more the 24 hours. The enormous search started at about the 24 hour mark. Leibby went missing about 4:50 PM Monday and was found a few hours into the early morning Wednesday, so he was missing about 33 hours or so give or take a few hours.
