A Buffalo News article published at the time unidentified female was found says that she had been in the water for a prolonged period of time. The follow up article (after autopsy) stated at least a couple of months. COD consistent with drowning. No official ruling if foul play was involved but did not appear that way.

Fingerprints not visible
Teeth badly damaged
She stood between 5’2” - 5’5” (NamUs estimates at 5’1”)
Age estimate was late teens to early 30’s (NamUs simply states Adult)

It might be worth looking into Canada as well, given the proximity and the fact that she was found in the water.

All of these women are between 15 and 40, under 5'6", and went missing within a year of the body being discovered. That said, they all have some sort of disqualifier too-- Most in clothes or height. Wanted to share anyway as height could have been difficult to determine with the body having been in the water so long, and clothes can always be changed.

Andrea Robinson- Best match but clothes don't line up and was only missing for a month

Renée Simard- Also a strong contender. Would have been missing for 3 months. Went missing while walking near a river that connects to the Niagara river, but was war further north.

Mistie Murray- Height and weight are similar. Would've had to travel a bit to get to Niagara (3hr by car). Was missing for a little under a month when the body was recovered.
Canada's Missing | Case details

Chantal Picotte- a little shorter and lighter. Went missing near water that connects to Niagara but much further north. Would have been missing for 7 months.
