Reannan,

The reason I put the left side of the loop up the Wantagh Parkway is in anticipation of the search on Monday. I'm not sure where carbuff or others drew the left hand side of the loop. But I really believe that the FBI surveillance Black Hawk helicopter found some targets along the Wantagh Parkway using that high tech camera. And I think they will find something there next week.

I don't think the killer would dump along the Meadowbrook Parkway because it is too well traveled. Cars coming and going from Long Beach and Lido Beach via the Loop Parkway. Plus more cars on the Ocean Parkway traveling East tend to come from the Meadowbrook and not the Wantagh. The Wantagh Parkway is VERY quiet at night. And because there has been a lot of construction along that route in the past 5-10 years, a vehicle on the side of the road would be completely ignored.

I didn't try to draw them as full loops, I just tried to connect them by the shortest path that would cover all the known events. I left the Bronx and terminal points in because I think at least some of the abductions began at those locations, though I agree that it's unlikely the actual murders took place there. I was trying to get a picture of the overall motion, which is a bit larger than just the comfort zone.

My impression -- which I'm willing to change based on further evidence -- is that his comfort zone is away from his home/work area. I'm also inclined to think there could be two different killers: the one who dismembers and dumps and the one who strangles and wraps.

What can you tell us about the bike trail?

If you look on the map that I left a link to and follow the Pkwy north ,zoom in and you'll see the bike trail on the east side of the road. The trail itself is about 6' wide used by joggers, cyclists, roller bladers etc.. They put a guardrail between it and the parkway due to mv accidents and the unprotected trail users.
ps I have used the Ocean pkwy to go to work for the last 10 years(5 days aweek) and on occasion I use Wantagh Pkwy instead of the RM to get to the Ocean Pkwy

Another variation on the map -- without the Port Authority/Bronx entries, but including Hicksville (K on the map) where RS and his brother lived, and the location where the two bodies on Long Island were found (L, M).

The hardest part is that there are 2 CJHs and 1 CPH. Apparently three generations of CH.

I am not having a problem. If you review CPH medical board information you will see that he has been on Long Island through and since medical school. The CH who is 93 probably lives with his son or is in a nursing home. Both CPH and CJH Sr. were in emergency medicine. I am actually not finding a third CH who is associated with these two names (meaning listed on any search sites that list all the names associated with the person you are searching for (Veromi, Pipl, etc.)

CJH senior wasn't in emergency medicine. He wasn't even a doctor -- he was a hospital administrator. He died in 1997. Abstract of obituary (unfortunately complete text requires payment): http://pqasb.pqarchiver.com/newsday...page=A.27&desc=Charles+Hackett,+Administrator

The 93-year-old CH is the third CH associated. I'm not sure who he is, unless the people search sites are digging out some references to the late CJH that don't indicate he's deceased.

On an earlier thread someone mentioned there was gossip regarding CJH and Hempstead General. Former employees were talking about working under CJH and being mentored by him so I assumed he was a doctor.

I just looked myself up in Veromi and it has my exhusband listed as a "possible relative." He has been dead for 8 years.

Yeah, I assumed so, too, and I was really surprised when I found the obituary and found out he wasn't.

Technically, CPH isn't a doctor, either. He's an osteopath, DO.

Is it just me (Maybe because I live Here) or does anyone else who is a local feel like this loop/mapping approach doesn't really apply to most Long Islanders?

All due respect, the areas being plotted are so close to each other that to assume that the SK would consider one area over another as his comfort zone just doesn't seem natural to this local. I was thinking about it this morning as I left my house on the North Shore in Kings Park overlooking the Long Island Sound and 22 minutes later arrived at my boat slip on the South shore in Babylon Village after a quick stop at my office in Commack. In that short period of time I travelled through FOUR townships (Smithtown, Huntington, Islip & Babylon), and TWELVE Hamlets (Kings Park, Smithtown, Fort Salonga, Commack, Hauppauge, Brentwood, Bay Shore, Deer Park, West Islip, North Babylon, West Babylon, and Babylon!).

comfort zone???

We are islanders. The entire island is our comfort zone!!

I guess you have to live here to understand.

One thing is traveling North to South.. another is traveling West to East
Good luck trying to travel from, say Garden City to Riverhead in 22 minutes... you'll need a helicopter for that.
I know many Long Islanders that have never traveled to a lot of towns in the Northeast side of the island and many other places. I went to school, lived and worked in many different towns in Suffolk and Nassau counties for many many years and i never felt like i "mastered" the whole island geographically, despite driving all over the place.

Merrick road...couldn't figure out where I had heard of that location before. Then I remembered. UGers talk about Merrick Rd. ALOT!

ETA: Interesting to note that the new search area falls right within our "loop".

Hi MK, Who are UG'ers? :waitasec:

I agree with you, Secret77. Although the island isn't that big, most Long Islanders don't travel around the island too much. The north shore and south shore are very different. And western Suffolk is much different from eastern Suffolk.

My opinion of this SK is that he feels very comfortable in the Town of Oyster Bay (Hicksville, Massapequa. etc.) and also the Town of Babylon (Amityville, Copaigue, West Babylon, Oak Beach, Gilgo, etc.) and maybe even the Town of Islip (Brentwood, Bay Shore, West Islip, etc.) but he doesn't feel comfortable in Huntington or Brookhaven. So he keeps it local most of the time. Stays close to home and close to work, but because it's hard to find outcall girls in that immediate area, he has to travel outside of the loop to get girls from time to time. But then he comes right back home and does his dirty work.

People search often lists people who are dead. Info is based somewhat on property tax records I beleive( or mortage info) and are not updated.

Absolutely agree with this.

My mother always comes up on all of the sites when I check my name. She died 20 years ago.

I don't think it has to do with tax records or mortgage info since out of all the places listed I only owned one.

My husband comes up with an address of my Father-In-Laws that he never lived at but he did use it as a mailing address once or twice.

I have always wondered about where they get their info. I show up in a town in which I lived, but did not own property. But it was my address during a divorce proceeding. So I think it must be a grouping of public documents.

I think they get it from all different sources, public documents, mailing lists etc...
