It's a long but good read..written by a person who was in Oak Beach supporting SG and her family on the 1 year anniversary of her disappearance. He (Jim) gives a good explanation of the area and the, IMO, heartless people who reside there. The writer traces Shannan's footsteps from JB's to GC's to CPH's.

Thanks for posting that. It was interesting. But I was a little confused by his sense of being surprised or annoyed( could not really tell) by the media being there and having a "journalistic" moment. I would be willing to bet the farm that SG's family called the media to attend.

I saw it on the news that night. There were at least a dozen reporters and cameramen following them around. How would anyone know they were going to be there unless they tipped them off? It's not like the news stations would have had enough time to send crews out there from Manhattan when they showed up. They had to know in advance.

They were all standing on JB's deck looking into the house. The mother was saying how the house was evil or something like that. The whole thing just rubbed me the wrong way.

Honestly, no way. I live in a more populated waterfront community on the North Shore and one thing I've noticed that's the same for my community as it is for the one in Oak Beach that also seems to be the same for other waterfront communities around the island is that we tend to have zero privacy. That might sound like a strange way to describe a private community but it's the truth; neighbors within the community watch your every step. they hear everything, see everything... know everything that everyone else is doing.

May 1st is the time of the year when it's nice enough weather for everyone to keep their windows open to enjoy the refreshing sea breeze. Everyone knows that there are strict rules on that island in terms of not being permitted to alter the wooded areas or dunes. Someone digging would a hole would be a big no-no. It's so quiet over there that someone would have heard it.

It's no surprise to me that JB sold his house in OB and moved. His behavior no doubt brought shame to the neighborhood. He simply did not fit in I bet. It's the least likely place you'd expect someone to bring in a prostitute. It's an incredibly quiet community that is practically asleep by 9pm. To have SG running from door to door was most possibly the single biggest event to hit their streets in twenty or thirty years.

I am convinced that SG was driven away and most likely back to the mainland. If they drove her to the east and then south on the Robert Moses Causeway they could have done so without ever crossing paths with the Suffolk police responding to the 911 call because it's a twin causeway that has one bridge for southbound traffic and one for northbound. The police would have been on the other bridge and never been able to stop them.

On the other hand, they could have drove her to the west on Ocean Parkway and once they passed Gilgo beach they would have driven into Nassau county (with a different police department). Unless SCPD informed NCPD (which they rarely do), the police in Nassau would not have had a clue that a person was missing.

So according to someone who claims to be a friend of Shannan's, on that Facebook page, Shannan's family HAS heard the 911 call, and it ends with someone catching up to her.
MP, her driver, seems to be the only one who was chasing her. (JB just wanted her out of his house.) And, in the "Here Women Talk" interview, MP is the one person Shannan's sister sounds genuinely afraid of. The interviewer asks the sister if she's met him, and the sister implies she's too afraid for her safety to. Hmmmm.

Have police talked with girls at nearby clubs to see if any of them know JB?

with inconclusive poly's...they need to be asking alot more questions...

I just want to throw this out there and see if anyone can find anything. I have an acquaintance that is an acquaintance of JB.

This acquaintance of mine once worked on Wall Street but when I asked someone why he doesn't work on Wall Street anymore, they said because he was banned from working on Wall Street. So he is a ex-financial advisor. I wonder if he knows JB from Wall Street or it is just a coincidence that they are both ex-financial advisors. I wonder if JB was banned as well. MSM would have probably found that information though.

Also, after Wall Street this acquaintance of mine worked a very shady job making lots of money. I really don't want to say what he did but he was making mega bucks. Well that ended at some point. I wonder if he knows JB from that line of business. It wouldn't surprise me.

Sorry I can't provide too much info. Everything I know about this person is hearsay and I haven't confirmed any of it.

If I had a chance to interview LE these are the Qs I would ask.
Did you play the 911 tape for thr Gilberts?
If you did, did you play the full tape or did you block certain parts.
If you did not play the tape, did detectives give the family a summary?
SG's family has gone public with the name of the person they say is on the tape as the person Sg said was after her. Is that name on the tape?
SG's says the tape indicates she was grabbed, pulled into a car. Is that correct?
At what time did LE closed down their search that morning?
From the information you have so far, who was the last person to have contact with SG?
SG's mother said she received calls at work. Has LE been able to figure out where the call originated?
Is there any evidence that Mr. Hyde ran a rehab out of his OB home.
Who has been asked to tell a lie detector test. WHo said yes? who said no?
Have you found any other connection between the four victims beside the Craig list?
How many interviews did you conduct and with whom on the morning of SG's 911 call?

If you're talking about the findshannangilbert site I feel the same way. They make all of these statements like they're fact, but they don't say where the heck they are getting the information from. I don't believe anything I read there unless I also see it confirmed from another source.

If you're talking about the findshannangilbert site I feel the same way. They make all of these statements like they're fact, but they don't say where the heck they are getting the information from. I don't believe anything I read there unless I also see it confirmed from another source.

Reading the comments on that site now, it looks to me like they don't know any more about the case than we do. I can understand locals resentment, but I feel they are only trying to make enough fuss to keep this from being swept under the rug. We get so little information from LE, it remains to be seen if that will happen.
