I can answer your question. But I won't post what her name was changed to. She has changed her name.

Welcome Mary! Thanks for the info. Wow, interesting. A while back someone posted a FB page that had this long conversation between a bunch of people. Someone, who may have been JB's sister was actually calling other people "witch(es)".Did she change her name or does JB have 2 sister's? I will try to find that link.

Yes it is un-nerving. To think that years ago it was a happy place when the O.B.I. (Oak Beach Inn) ruled the area.

I'm also in Babylon Village. It seems this is the talk of the town , I hear people talking about this everywhere I go.

Sorry I don't know the lingo here yet? I assure you I'm not CPH? Feel free to message me.

CPH stop coming on this forum and trying to setup your neighbors :P

It says it is located in the west side upper 30 in the fashion district, in Manhattan,I think. I just came across an article about Charlie Sheen, saying one of his "goddesses" was a graduate of the place. So maybe this would have been too high dollar for Shannan. I have been researching S&M "dungeons" a little bit. They advertise that they are into role playing only and are legal in NY, offering no sex, just fantasy. Delving into this seedy world, I guess it has layers, subcultures familiar to clients with "special needs.":puke:

Hmmmm, that's not far from Port Authority. But yeah, maybe too high dollar for the victims. I read, on one of these links yesterday, that Shannon's driver said she charged around 200.....maybe an hour?

I have read $250, but I would imagine it would depend on neediness at any particular time of the month. Hmmmm. Near the Port Authority. It seems girls involved in these specialties make $400 to $800 depending. Would not be something you would want everybody to know. You would think LE would really want to check these places out but I don't suppose they get much cooperation from the owners.

Hi,

CPH is Dr. Hackett. That was a joke! I asked!:innocent:

Yesterday I used TOS (terms of service) and MSM (mainstream media) I think that's what they mean...haha

So, which one of you went over to the website of the guy that painted the 10-skull mural of Gilgo Beach? :rocker: "Amanda" asked him about the significance, and he basically told her it was not connected, but that he was doing it with other artist and that there was "....a surf contest each year and money was raised that went to save multiple children's lives that live in 3rd world countries with a curable heart disease.". Wow. Not sure what to make of that. It just stuck out to me because the profile of the Atlantic City SK included words about his hobbies being "art and photography", and being pretty arrogant and full of himself. You can read the blog here:

and the profile of the Atlantic City SK here:

WOWSERS I think this artist's explanation is as hinky as they come.

And now for some more Gilgo-Oak Beach weirdness:

http://yfrog.com/gz21ekkj

According to this site http://www.bragino.com/archives/date/2007/07 the skull mural was completed in 2007.

P.S. I'll save you the trouble of counting the skulls...there are 10.

Thanks so much for finding and posting this, MK. I'm speechless. Too creepy.

ETA: This may be a stupid question because it's a public mural and they probably already know about it did you forward that pic to LE? If not, you should... just in case.

I don't get any strange vibes from the artist's reply. I used to do art myself, and sometimes you do get childish or prying questions where people are looking for something that isn't there or totally interpret the intent wrong. If anything he's probably a little defensive, because the poster didn't say anything positive or offer any critical comments. It was just a why is this that way. Okay then weird.

Plus, being surrounded by the ocean, I am sure you are a little more "steeped" in ocean lure.

I honestly think the 10 skulls is just one more weird coincidence out of multitude of creepy happenings on L.I.

10 skulls and swirling ghosts ...ten skulls keeping watch...ten orderly skulls...

COME ON!!!!!! I want the explanation and I want it now. ... seriously...ten dead mariners? ten dead indian warriors....ten dead ship builders????

I'll take anything logical...

One thing thats kind of weird with the victim location map is that it roughly follows the chronological order the known victims went missing. Waterman is out of order. But the lady from Manorville that went missing in 2000 is closest to Oak Beech. Followed by JT - 2003 and ending with Costello farthest away. The unidentified might not fit either. But still weird and possible a connection to the GB4.

It also starts out with the baby found near the unidentified Manorville victim. Perhaps symbolic in some sick twisted way.

Check out SG's FB Discussions page - Topic: Oak Beach: In Her Shoes

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Praying-for-Shannan-Maria-Gilbert/168485149857128?sk=app_2373072738

It's a long but good read..written by a person who was in Oak Beach supporting SG and her family on the 1 year anniversary of her disappearance. He (Jim) gives a good explanation of the area and the, IMO, heartless people who reside there. The writer traces Shannan's footsteps from JB's to GC's to CPH's.

Thanks so much, Internetgirl. Wow. That guy Jim is a really good writer. And he sums up a lot of aspects of the Shannan mystery in one place. It is almost shocking the way the neighbors behaved and really, really sad. Sheesh.

One point that I didn't know about until I read that piece - the tapes from the gatehouse from the night Shannan disappeared are missing! That seems like it must be a big clue. Thanks for the link!

Makes one wonder who has access to the gatehouse? It isn't far from where she was last placed.

Boy, just from what we have learned think what LE has. I'd give my eye teeth . . . . .

the only place I've ever seen that posted is on findshannangilbert and as usual they don't say where they are getting their information. Other reports have said that the police are not releasing what is on the tapes and that besides a tape it's all saved on a hard drive.

Another weird thing with the map is that the distances sort of fit on the time line also. With the last three it was around 500 ft and only months between when they went missing. Between the unidentified Manorville victim - 2000 and JT 2003 it is about several thousand feet - 3 years between when they went missing. Between JT and Barnes is several thousand feet - 4 years between.
